Congrats on the LOC approval Meya! It looks like you have a built a relationship with them and they are finally starting to trust you enough to lend you credit. BTW, how did you get close with them? Did you keep asking to speak with the managers even where there were no problems with your account?

I've been real close with them, I go inside to make my deposit which is usually after a days work if I am off on time. One account specialist has been knowing me every since I used to go in there with my granny (who has been deceased since 1989) and that was when the bank was called Bayview Federal. They had my business for like over 5 years now, and my job has a business account there. When I applied for the LOC, I didn't even have my wallet on me, she just applied by using the info the bank has, and asked me a few more questions.

My issues was resolved by coming out of my pockets...lol. She was able to take all the overdrafts off because I did do it, and I didn't get mad because I know it was I who made the stupid mistake. The Bank manager, Corey, told me to come back and apply for the personal loan to pay off my debt when my credit report is free of any kind of baddies. He is not worried about the high util, because obviously, that is why i want the loan. I hope and pray it works.

Exactly! That's why I'm going to dump BoA and take my business to US Bank after a few months as long I don't experience any problems with them.

I hear you. Don't forget about Pentagon FCU though too.

I just wish WaMu didn't fail. Our choices are really starting to get scarce.

Rivas]in fact, I have never heard anything bad about them.[/B]

Rivas: Chase is all over the place here too, but we have a fair amount of US Banks. My sister has had them for over a decade and loves them, in fact, I have never heard anything bad about them.

US Bank is pretty cool, just slow as I don't know what. The branch in my area, there can be only one person in front of you, and your wait will be at least 5-10 min at times. They never have no more than 3 tellers even on a Friday, and you will have to watch your account closely. Their fees adds up real quickly (same as Charon stated about Bofa new actions), if you have an overdraft they will charge a fee (which is normal) but the fees starts to add up if not paid within 4 days i believe.

They have some good sides to them also, they have ATM's at Walgreen's, which is really convenient for me, they offer the cash back rewards on the check cards, the tellers are nice and courteous, I am just crazy about the managers "Lulu and Corey" and I was shocked to see that I was approved for a $500 line of credit from them. What I have learned was to get to know them real good, and they will stick by you in time of need. Hopefully, I am pushing for a personal loan to pay off my entire credit debt. I want the personal loan on my credit report, so that it can also make it look better in other ways.

Yeah it looks like a normal checking account with direct deposit which I love, I would never go back to getting a paper pay check. I wish there were more Citibank branches in the country, they really need to get on the ball with that.

HJM: Theres about two US Banks that ive seen around here... Imma look into them! Thank!

Colo: Yea, a checking account... I can NEVER EVER GO bank either to paper checks!

I think I would still prefer Chase Banking instead of Citibank. Only because of the history I have with them (even tho they dont give a poo) and because they are all over the place (banks and atms). ATM's everywhere out in the open dont need to go out a search for one... Now for Citi. Theres two in Las Colinas wheres its where my hub works... The ATMS are all inside the 7-Elevens here.. LOL. Imma see if my husband gets any kind of credit or anything extra for signing up with them since he works there...

The Citibank EZ checking looks like a good one]https://online.citibank.com/US/JRS/pands/detail.do?ID=ChkEZChecking[/URL]

Rivas:

You mean a Citibank checking/savings or a Citibank card? Citibank checking accounts from what I have seen kind of fee you to death, although with direct deposit they are waived. As far as a Citibank card, I love mine and I always recommend them.

RivasGlo, sorry to hear about your Chase account closure. I felt the same way when BoA closed my credit card accounts last week. After BoA closing both of my credit card accounts, I opened a checking account with US Bank because I haven't heard any negative things about them and they're a conservative bank which means that since they only lend to consumers with good credit, they don't need to close any accounts or do CLD's.

If you have any US Bank branches in your area, I strongly recommend you open a checking account with them and build a relationship with them instead of Chase. US Bank will treat you better in the long run.

Eugene66] I have heard the same thing.

Everyone] Thanks, I know its been forever but im always effen at work and when I do get out early all I do is sleep ;) I need to start looking for a credit union... I just dont know where to start.

Meya girl! Missed ya! I am loving that pic!!!!

I loved Chase and I cannot believe they did this to me. I was planing on closing some accounts that I do not use and merge my Chase CC all together but I dont even want to call them now for anything cause they will come up with whatever reason to get to my other cards!

My hub was thinking about opening a Citibank account... but idk whether that would b a good idea. He now works with Citi in the Mortgate/Auto Dept and finds it nice that the bank is just around the corner... What do u guys think? Time to start over with a new bank?

I wouldn't want to carry a balance on neither one of those cards. That is a rip off Rivas. Its a shame how these creditors are doing us, they see that we are already in financial turmoil, and they are keeping us in this hole by boosting our Apr's! I am pretty sure that plenty of Americans had some pretty high balances when doing so, I am one of them. This is why I am paying and closing at the same time. I don't care about scores and whatever history I had, I don't want to own all of these cards anymore.

Charon Lowe's is just a GEMB card that plenty of people care nothing about. If they were to have done that to me, I would just say thank you and goodbye. Unfortunately, I left them first. Don't feel bad about them, who cares, they wasn't going to do anything but slash your limit if they did not close it, so what was the difference? $300, they showed you no love in the first place

Exactly, I felt like they did me a favor, besides they probably said she doesn't care, she rarely uses the card. I don't understand why the Lowe's Corporation would have them handling their cards though. This is not going to make customers spend money in their stores, because after the cashier told me that, I politely left all of my items on the counter and left the store. I could have used an alternate form of payment, but WHY. I could get the same crap at Wal-mart or Target for less the price. Look, there's no love loss. Forget them.
