Ask your Realtor about these Effective Marketing Strategies

If you decide to sell your home, one of the first steps you will take is hiring a qualified realtor. With so many real estate professionals to choose from, you should keep your options open until you are 100 percent sure of which person is right for you and your property.

While there are several important details to consider when hiring a realtor, here is one that you cannot afford to overlook: your realtor’s marketing strategy.

The strategy your realtor uses could be the difference between a quick sale and no sale at all.

You can expect your realtor to touch on the basics, such as listing your home on the MLS and sticking a sign in the yard. However, those who go above and beyond put you in better chance to reach your goal without delay.

Here are three effective (but often times underused) marketing strategies:

1. Postcards. There is no denying the fact that it will cost your realtor some money, but in the long run it is one of the best ways to spread the word about your home, including the benefits it has to offer.

2. Online virtual tour. There is no replacement for seeing a home in person, but this is the next best thing. If your realtor creates a virtual tour, you can be rest assured that potential buyers will get a clear understanding of how your property stacks up to the competition.

3. Open house. Do you remember the days when this was the most popular marketing strategy around? Some realtors still rely on open houses as often as possible, but others have moved away from this. Before making a hiring decision, ask if an open house will be scheduled if your property does not sell within a particular period of time.

From the moment your house goes on the market, there is only one thing that matters to you: selling it as quickly as possible at a fair price. When you combine the three marketing strategies above with many others, your chance of success goes through the roof.
