sh0t0kan's review: Callout Comment Today I hit my all time low I applied to a store I just hate. I just sock drawer the card or maybe but that xbox and PIF when the bill comes in to create some payment history.

Since joining the site I have and admit got a little carried away with applying. But since joining I have learned more about my credit and reports and how to maintain and even increase my score.

These are the cards I have gotten

HSBC Plat Mastercard $2000
Wamu Plat Mastercard $4500
Target Visa $1000
Sak's Fitfth Avenue Mastercard $1000
Best Buy Mastercard $1000
Plains Commerce Visa $5000
Banana Republic (GEMB) $500
Walmart (GEMB) $400
Hooters Mastercard $500
Junipers Itunes $ 500

Declined From
Amex: Delta Sky miles, ONE, Blue
CITI: Plat select
Junipers: Seamiles (called for recon and said too many negatives on 2 C/O acc. 1 30 day from 1.5 years ago and too many neww acc. She said to try back in 6 months. I'll write a recon for all three though),
Juniper Emigrants: will send recon
Juniper US Airways: (how I got the Itunes and was declined for those is beyound me, oh wells)
Nordstroms: Too many inquires called for recon and they said they have a rule about inquiries and will not approve a card.
EDCCU: some credit union has some pretty good reviews as far as exceptance. I have two recent CO so they didn't approved talkeed to the lady (Real nice by the way) she said get them negotiated and they will easily approve me.

Still pending

Wamu Plat Visa: they take a while for their applications just like my Mastercard app over the phone.
Chase freedom: called and app still in review
GEMB MC: Just a standard no rewards card still in review
Circuit city: In review
Lord and Taylor: in review
American Eagle: in review

so I have made 25 inquiries (I think LOL) and I'm done got 10 cards out of it and still have some pending. My mind is exhausted and I'm ready to see where I can take my score too with these cards that I have. My score has fluctuated on truecredit it was kinda funny down then up when a inquiry was made or a card was added but I don't believe those scores cause my TU says 600 and according to the lady at EDSCU she said my TU score was 652. So what to believ credit keeper, truecredit oh whatever forgetit. Ill just pay them anyways to keep the cards I don't use active and watch my score up.

this is it. Next time I apply will not be for a while I really don't like using credit because for a while I really never had a card Just 1 Aspen (really good company and gives cli on every 4th payment like clock work started with 300 now at 750) just got used to using cash. I'll be hard to always remember to use them just to keep them active, but honestly their are some I don't mind closing on me WALMART haha. Thanks for everyones awesome advise I look forward to many future converstations with you but other than applications and approvals hehe.

This was a really good sit and help me in a lot of the decision making about card and who they pull from ( I was really triying to avoid EX)creditboards.com/forums/index.php? Autocom=creditpulls

this site is spot on

True credit scores
TU 600
EX 527 hahaha
EQ 533 haha

Credit keeper
TU 657
EX 588
EQ 633

Wamu
TU 667

So this is it. Next time I apply will not be for a while I really don't like using credit because for a while I really never had a card Just 1 Aspen (really good company and gives cli on every 4th payment like clock work started with 300 now at 750) just got used to using cash. It'll be hard to always remember to use them just to keep them active, but honestly their are some I don't mind closing on me WALMART haha.
thanks for everyones awesome advise I look forward to many future converstations with you but other than applications and approvals hehe.

Thanks again
Dwight

You just posted in the review of the credit card itself, but we would love to read this in The Network, where live stories are being told on a daily basis. Thanks!

The Real Fico Scores User Icon on 2008-07-28

Remarks I was told by someone that Fair Isaac is the only one that can give you your real FICO scores. In order to get all 3 scores and the negative reason along the for anything wrong on your credit report go to www.MyFICO.com/12. You will get all 3 scores plus the negative reasons for about $50.00.

Remarks WOW!! With 25 inquiries on your credit report, expect to be done for quite awhile. You really went shopping, lol!! Remember, each one stay on report for 24 mos. (2 years), but after 12 mos they aren't looked at unfavorably. It doesn't sound like you need anymore credit... I would give it a rest for a year, because you never know if you will really NEED credit, such as a bank loan, mortgage, or car. I think with all those inquiries, just checking out MY FICO.com and purchasing the complete score package, be prepared for a fairly large point hit, probably around 30 or so points. Its going to take some months of payment history and aging to bring it back up again. Congrats, and good luck to you!!

Remarks Yea I agree with Thomas you have quite the collection of cards... I do agree though applying for cards can be addictive but You gotta stop because Ive hit the denial wall hard... Give your accounts a year or two to age, then see whats out there.

Re: Eric User Icon on 2008-07-31

Remarks How many cards do you have now? I have 19 accounts now and am worried this is too many. My scores have been stable, though. I am thinking of closing some new ones that have low limits (i. E. Target and Kohl's). I think because they are fairly new, the impact to my score will be minimal as they are not aged accounts. What do you think?
