I got the letter and the reason was " NUMBER OF VERIFIED TRADES WITHIN 6 MONTHS IS TOO LOW". Should I call them back? Or just let it go. I was approved for $5000 discover card a month before I apply for this card and it was showing in my credit file and I have 2 other credit cards which I got 4 months ago. I had several credit cards in the past but I closed all of them like 7 years ago( I know now I shouldn't done that). My scores when I applied was over 780 FICO.
What do you guys think?

Hey I had the same thing happen when I tried to strat buliding my credit around 2years a go... Even tho I had credit card they were denied my saying they can approve me because most of the credit cards were less then 6months old... If you keep applying they will no approve you just wait for another six months and then try to apply make sure... You apply for good card... I have had hooters card for 1 year now and they suck... I pay on time in full everymonth... But I lost my card once and they said they will not give me anothe one because I lost my card in first 6months opening account... Had wait for 2months then they send me another card... But now I don't use that card at all... It is just sitting my wallet collectin dust... But if I were you just wait for year or so on the other card so you have good current credit history with them then apply for another card.

I would definitely try for Cap 1 card with that type of a Fico score. I don't think that you would have to wait 6 months before applying.
Apply for the Cap1 if your inquiries are not that high. If and when they approve you, just chill for about 5-6mths before applying for more credit.
If you get the CAp 1, use the card but keep utilization under 30% and pay more than the minimum and do not be late.

Personally, I'd prefer the Cap 1 card over the Hooters card anyday.

Thank you guys for the quick respond and the advises.
I think I will wait 4 or 5 months before I apply for another credit card but never again hooters.
