Now after all the reviews from you kind people I realized that we have a 7-10 day theme going on here. What no one has posted is the exact message. Unfortunately I was not paying attention so I dont know what it said word by word but it was something like We cannot process your request at this time, you will receive a letter in the mail 7-10 days with an explanation.
Now does this sound like the same 7-10 day response everyone is getting or are you guys getting something different. More like Your request is being processed at this time, give us 7-10 days to respond.
So sad I got denied, can anyone shed some light on the different messages?

Do you have a freeze on your TU report? "We Cannot Proces your request" sounds to me that they can't pull your report.

I hate to say this but I am waiting for my neighbor to call in ask them the same question. She just received this message a couple of days ago herself. I am so happy that you posted this review Persian because I was thinking that she did not put correct info in the system.

I called and they said yes you were denied SORRY lol
THey wont tell me why until I get the letter.
I checked my Fico score from Equifax Score Power and it was 593. Not good enough I guess..
Maybe next time :)

To be honest, I am kind've surprised. Everyone has been reporting lots of luck with this card... Maybe Merrick Bank is being more stingy with offering credit now. Anyway persian, I would probably hold off 6-12 months and try again...

I heard this happen to someone I know and it was approved.
wait for the letter.
If you get denied don't give up try in about 7 months.

Get The Letter,... Give Them A Call on 2008-07-11
I say get the letter and then give them a call. I posted a few months ago that I actually got approved for the card, which I did. But here's the thing. Not only did I receive 3 different stories over the phone about my limit, about whether not they could disclose that information since I had not received the card yet, but also one rep told me that I did have an annual fee but she couldn't tell what it was as of yet. Now keep in mind, this was a day or 2 after I applied online. So I got all sorts of stories when I called the Credit Dept. It was only until I actually received the card that it had all of the accurate information listed, no Annual Fee, 8K CL, 14.27%apr. So I say... Wait until you get the letter then give them a call to see if they will reconsider without a 2nd Hard Pull on your credit.

On my denial letter it just stated denied and if I want to know why I had to call or write. I gave up.
