joe's review: Callout Comment I've just received my Washington Mutual card. As was previously mentioned, the $30,000 limit was an error. To be honest, it should be clear to most people, unless you typically get new cards with a limit in that range, that this was not likely correct. I called to activate the card... Entered the last 4 digits of my SSN and the last 4 digits on the card. I then got a message saying I would now be transferred to a representative. I was expecting to have to listen to someone push extra protection coverage for five minutes. To my delight, I just got a recording that said "Your card is now activated, there is no need to talk to a representative at this time unless you have additional questions. If you have additional questions, you may reach a representative at...". I really don't see how this is a scam. The offer I received never said there would be a $30,000 limit. It said the credit line would be up to $7,500 (with the average being about $1,500). It was only after I signed up for the card that I got the $30,000 message. I could see maybe saying it was a scam if that was what the original offer that I signed up for was, but that's not the case.
