nwalker30's review: Callout Comment After reading all of the reviews, I decided to apply. I knew I would get the $100 limit. To my surprise, I called the automated system and it said my limit was $500. This is not bad to start off with. I wanted this card because of the special savings they give cardholders. Similiar to JCPenny/Kohl's. I don't like that the online account management does not display your credit limit. I think I'll stop applying for cards for now. This gets kind of addictive LOL!

Credit Limit User Icon on 2008-01-21

Remarks Hey Nwalker, I called the number and I couldn't find any options in the automated system that told me my credit limit. Are there any specific numbers or options that I have to go through in order to hear my credit limit?

Remarks I called the number listed and I entered my account number. It then gave a list of options. You have to enter your acct number or if you haven't received the card enter your ssn. (My account number flashed on the screen when I was approved) If both of those don't work, the system will transfer you to a csr and they can tell you your limit. I hope this works for you, let me know.

Surprised User Icon on 2008-02-06

Remarks Well, I have to admit I'm a little shocked. I called the number listed on the back of my card to check my balance. The system said I had a credit balance of -.98 and available credit of $1000. They gave me a $500 increase just that fast. I just opened this account in January 2008! I'm very happy with my increase and this card. I only made one purchase of $25 and paid in full.

Congrats On Your New CLI! User Icon on 2008-02-06

Remarks Nwalker, congrats on your CLI! I've had my Macy's card since November and I've charged about $120 on it. I bought two gift cards in December for $65 and paid it off before the statement closed. I bought a $50 gift card last month and also paid it off in full before the statement closed. They raised my CL in December from $300 to $600. They didn't give me a CLI this month. I'm hoping they would so next month because I'm going to buy some cologne that would cost me $150 after a $25 coupon. So I'd say that the CLI they gave you is pretty remarkable considering the fact that you only charged $25 on that card.

Remarks Hjm, I was shocked also that I would get an increase after only spending $25. But I won't complain!

Run With It! User Icon on 2008-02-07

Remarks Don't complain with that CLI at all, just take it RUN as Meya always says lol

It is a good card and I know that it's going to help me in the long run with getting high tier cards regardless of it being just a store card. The payment history and the CL is what counts!
