Applied online and was approved for max of $500. Customer Service Rep stated that is the max on inital cards. Might be true but dosen't really make sense to me to only allow $500 on a Best Buy card since most good things start at $499

Congratulations. Unless HSBC has drastically changed how they do business, $500 is not the max limit. I know several people who have gotten $1,000 plus initial limits.

Congrats! Remember, HSBC USA Card Division is in process of being transferred (sold) to Capital One Financial so who knows what the future holds?
