deedee's review: Callout Comment I have had this card since 2005, started with $200 limit and I have had no limit increase. I have paid on time every month. I even tried  to get my limit raised, and was denied. Don't know why. The only good thing with Target card is their online service and you can set up Auto Pay. At this same time I got the Target, I got a Wal-Mart, starting with $100, and since I have been increased to $1025. I also got an Eddie Bauer, started with $250, and I was just increased to $1260. I got a Best Buy, started with $1200, just increased to $1600 (I had to ask for it, but I was immediately increased online). Is it the more you use the card, the more likely they are willing to increase you? Target seems stingy to me. Orchard is a good card for increases if you pay on time. I started in 2004 with $750 and I now have $1350. That was my first card since 1998, when I had a Capital One but had to C/O due to divorce. I did not think I would be able to get another CC but Orchard gave me another chance. I now have a Citi Dividend Platinum Select (started with $2300, raised to $2900 in 3 mos) and a Discover ($3K). Both were surprises! I applied for the Discover after reading a post on this site. The person said their score was way lower than what was being shown, so I tried and got approved! Yeah! My scores are low 600-670. So with patience, you can re-build too! BTW, I love this site! It is comforting to hear other people with the same issues as me! I thought I was the only one with not perfect credit!

Remarks DeeDee I hear you with this one. I've had this card since 2001 and for the past six years I've had to same credit limit ($600.00). I have used the heck out of this card, paid the balance in full and used it again. I've asked for a limit increase at least 5 times within the six years and have been declined every time. I have also been able to obtain at least 10 other credit cards during this time with limits ranging from $1K to $10K. I finally gave up this past year and quit using the card entirely but then wouldn't you believe it, I got a letter in the mail saying that I was automatically being upgraded to a Target Visa with a credit limit of $1K. I'll take the Visa but I still won't use the card. I believe the interest rate is somewhere around 20%.

Remarks Thanks Dee! Actually, I have been coming to this site for awhile now! Check out my last post for Target, on 11/21/06... I posted it under "Dee"... My nickname, hehe. As you can see, I am not a fan of Target! Do you sense bitterness???!! Anyway, there are too many other good cards, but to those who have had good experience with Target, way to go! Mine is paid off and collecting dust in my wallet! I am only keeping it b/c I actually like the card design!!!

Remarks I don't know why they arent giving you increases Dee. Ive had my card for about 8 or 9 months and they have already increased me to $1k of course my wife uses it every month but we don't always pay the bal in full either. BTW ppl you don't have to pay in full every month to have good credit but credit utilization is the key! Eric
