icecoldtoo's review: Callout Comment I applied for this online last month and got an instant approval with $100 cl. You would have thought it was a million the way I whooped and hollered, it's been YEARS since I was approved for anything. I bought a wallet a few weeks after I got the card for 30 bucks. As soon as the bill came, I PIF. I understand that you can ask for a gli in 3 months. That's my plan. Can anyone say what the gli generally is?? It's rather hard to keep utilization down when the limit is 100 dollars, after all, it IS Macy's.

By the way, I signed up and would love to hear from the experts since my journey just began.

Remarks From just my personal experience it seems that if you pay your card on time every month (I always pay more than the required payment) and not to go over your limit seem to only look at just your payment history and not so much your credit score. I've never noticed an automatic increase, I've always had to call in and speak to a CSR. I've also noticed that when I try to ask for line of credit increase by using the automated system I'm always declined but when I speak to a live operator I always get an increase in $200.00 increments. I started off with a credit limit of $200.00 and I'm not up to $800.00. I do remember once a CSR telling me that she only has the authority to do a $200.00 increase and if I wanted more she would have to pull my credit. I LOVE MY MACY'S CARD!

Remarks Congrats on the Macys Card and welcome to the finance globe family... Usually Meya gets in here first lol... On your question about the gli on the macy's accounts can be from $300 limit up to a $1k depends on your utilization and payment history. Just keep a small balance and pay it off the next few months and they will give you an automatic increase. Eric

Remarks Way to go Icetocold, we love to hear approvals here. Thanks for sharing your scores and the honesty to do so. I just applied also but I went into the store, which is prbably a $100-150 cl difference because they was able to better verify my identity. I am going to hang in there with this card because I have done them wrong in the past and people like us needs to keep members and newcommers up to date with our limit increase and overall experience with the card. Congrats again buddie.
