paula's review: Callout Comment I applied for this card and closed it within a month. I was excited when I was instantly approved online but it turns out the limit was for only $200.00. Within three weeks I charged $175.00 and paid it in full before the payment due date and before a statement even generated. When I went to use the card it was declined. I called Dillard's to find out why the card was declined and I was told because I was charging more then what was available. I explained to the customer service rep that I had already paid the balance in full ($75.00 online at the Dillard's website and $100.00 online through my bill pay from my bank account. I was told that even though both payments had posted to the account there was still a 21 day hold to guarantee that the payments cleared. How crazy is that, if I made a payment directly online at the Dillard's website and it's an automatic debit from my checking account why would there be a 21 day old. To make a long story short, I told the rep to close the account, it just wasn't worth the hassle.

Remarks Dillard's does a hold on most payments whether it's online or bill pay. Just is just a pre-caution for new accounts. Once you have made consecutive payments with by the same method they wont place a hold anymore. All you have to do is call the Customer Service Center and have them remove the hold.(This only applies if your account is current). I hope this will help.
