Where are the good credit people?

The main problem is, well I never had BofA cards. All my cards where MBNA cards and about a year ago BofA purchased MBNA and converted all my cards to BofA Platinum Plus cards. When the accounts where MBNA they where great. The credit lines are the same but the great offers that MBNA had are all gone now. I am not going to close the Platinum Plus cards, its just that Signature Visa that I find hard to swallow. My FIRST UNION and my Suntrust cards where taken over by BofA as well. I went from having NO BofA cards to having 4 platinum cards with them overnight. The signature Visa card I took as a pre approved offer. I actually find that card UNUSEABLE unless you want to destroy your credit rating.

Replied by Meya on topic Some creditors does that type

Some creditors does that type of stupidity out of spite and jealousy. Capital One just released all of our limits in the last 3 months of 2007. They used to do the same thing to me, it is to reduce competition. I really think it makes you loose customers, especially from listening to Porgy.

Replied by hjm331 on topic Hi, The BofA signature cards

Hi, The BofA signature cards report the amount you owe for that month as your CREDIT limit. The other BofA Platinum cards and other BofA products report your ACTUAL credit lines, so my $35,000 card reports the $35,000 as my limit and my balance of $700 as amount owed. Just stay clear of the SIGNATURE cards. They just sent me a blanace transfer check for 0% but its only good for 8 months. The CitiBank balance transfers are good for LIFETIME, so its something to keep in mind. As far as other banks that have signature cards, I have no idea. BofA is my only signature card and it will be my last for sure.

Have you called Bank of America and spoken somebody with higher authority like a supervisor/manager? Which BofA platinum card do you have? I'm asking this because I'm also with BofA and it's my favorite bank to do with business with because I haven't had any problems with them. I have the feeling that they always know what they're doing in favor of the customer but after reading your story, I have a totally different point of view haha

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

From what I hear Experian is the most desired report for lenders. Experian they claim is more advanced and has the most current info, followed by TransUnion as second.

I am NOT using my B of A credit cards for a month to see if it helps improve my score. It is very frustrating when I pull my scores and see the comments they put on me. TOO MUCH available credit, TOO many credit lines etc LOWERS my score. I know I am over credit carded but I really dont see where they are correct. Again the bureaus do NOT know ones income, job contracts so they are just stating this based on what????????????? just how you may pay your Visa card? I guess thats what they do.

I know I am OVER carded, however I really want that Hooters card. Temptation is there, I like the rewards etc. If I do decide to get the Hooters card I will close my B of A Signature card the one that reports me as maxed out. Decisions decisions decisions heheheheheh

I just moved to texas a year ago from Las Vegas. Now that was a horrible place to live and work.

OK, I am going to go apply for the Hooters card now, I only add one or two cards a year, and it is 2008 hehhehehheeh. OK Eric, dont rank on me for taking out a Hooters card, I have a total of 5 B of A cards and they are nothing great. Sure BofA gives HUGE credit lines BUT their platinum cards really are weak on rewards compared to Citi Bank. :fun:

Replied by Meya on topic 1. How in the world

1. How in the world do you imporve a 798 credit score? I would love to hear this one...lmao! You are already in the "Top Dog" category, but then agian, I just thought about what you said when you were wondering why and how can someone get the 800 club victory when you have been doing the same thing all along.

2. Actually TU is my highest score (629 w/0 inq) and EQ is next (624 w/3 inq). Me and experian do not get a long (613 w/25 inq). Every where I apply, they all pull from Exp. What is so special about them? This is why I will be glad when Mike finishes the credit application/puller database so that I can be more informative about who should I apply from and the demographic areas. I think my area is red-flaged.

3. I came some what understand where you are comming from. Texas accepts California Cosmetology license (vise versa) but GA (which is my future home) says that I have to go to school for 400 more hours, go back to State Board, and then transfer my license to them. Are they crazy! I think that is bull crap, It took me 8 hours of nagging butterflies to pass my State Board Exam, I have not been there since 1993. If I was asked about Chemistry, and Anatomy I would probably tell them "There are only 4 bones in the fingers and 3 lungs in the entire body." Give me a break!

Replied by porgy1000 on topic I do understand. I never

I do understand. I never had a credit problem in my life but I do see how others can fall into problems with missing just one or two payments. I have been reading up on the MyFico.com site. I am going to follow what they say to imporove my score. I just disputed some things on my credit report, not that they are bad things but still some improper reporting can lead to points deducted.

Am I the only one ? but is your equifax your LOWEST score? My equifax today is 759 way under my experian of 763 and my transunion of 798. Also some of my open accounts are not showing up on equifax and they seem to be a month behind the others in reporting.

Bank of America is a good bank for credit cards, however, I am just not thrilled on how they report you to the credit bureaus. The visa signature card is reported as a maxed out card no matter what the balance is, and the platinum cards are reported up to FOUR TIMES A MONTH. What they do is report you on your closing date, then if you charge 10% of your line, they will re report you again in the same month and will continue doing so every time you spend another 10% of your line. I always try to pay off my cards before the closing date to keep it at a low amount, but with them re reporting all month it makes it impossible, I am going to not use the B of A cards for a month to see if it will raise my scores.

California is very unfriendly to doctors, it is the only state in the USA that does NOT take the national exams. I can work in any state in the USA except for Calif. CA requires you to go to school in CA for 2 years to be able to work there. That will cut down on the quality of care in that state. Nuff said on that heheheheheh.

Baaamm! Thought I would just kick this door in to see what you good credit people are doing in here. Don't get your seat too warm, there is a few of us bringing our crowns and royal seats in here in about another year or less. Don't be afriad of us, we dont want to cause any problems, but it seems like you need some conversation started up in here. Is this how good credit individuals do? Sitting in here quietly driking top of the line wine. Oh come on family, yes I said family becasue if you are a member of FG you are one big family and some of us are just screw ups.......hahahahahaha

Replied by Meya on topic So I take it that

So I take it that you have never been there before, well let me tell you how I got there. I was young, dumb, and didn't care about credit. I never seen the reason for having good credit since I always kept an anormous amount of cash available. I would charge up a lot of items and throw away the statements when they came in the mail. I even went as far as sending creditors fake death ceritficates so that they would stop calling my moms house. It worked for some, but not all. As I got older and retried credit over I was doing good until I became hospitalized, that is when I started charging up again and still did not care. Now that I am a mom, wife, and changed my life, things are a lot different than what it used to be. You need credit for everything these days. I wil never go back down the road of damaged credit agian. I am paying for the mistakes that I have made and trust me, it does not feel good and it is very unfair to the people who was kind enough to lend you credit. So, here is my excuse that I am not shamed to talk about, and do not feel good about. I will be able to come into the 700 club one day (in about 2 years) and when I do, I will always leave my personal experiences behind for the next person to gain from.
