Thanks darryl, I really appreciate that. It has been hard, actually harder than what I expected for it to be, but I do believe that all it takes is integrity and honesty, then all the rest will fall in place. I have made it to the 700 club on one of my reports, and just when I thought it would feel like a million dollars, it feels like two dollars instead. They (creditors) want us to be perfect in their "Fantasy Credit" world, but they yet to understand that we are only humans. 800's, I don't think so. It took me years to get into the 700 club, I don't even focus on the 800's:laugh:

I completely agree with you.You have done an great job.. Such an informative and well formed post! Thanks for sharing that, it was wonderful of you. Thanks for the nice collection of this posts.!!!

So I take it that you have never been there before, well let me tell you how I got there. I was young, dumb, and didn't care about credit. I never seen the reason for having good credit since I always kept an anormous amount of cash available. I would charge up a lot of items and throw away the statements when they came in the mail. I even went as far as sending creditors fake death ceritficates so that they would stop calling my moms house. It worked for some, but not all. As I got older and retried credit over I was doing good until I became hospitalized, that is when I started charging up again and still did not care. Now that I am a mom, wife, and changed my life, things are a lot different than what it used to be. You need credit for everything these days. I wil never go back down the road of damaged credit agian. I am paying for the mistakes that I have made and trust me, it does not feel good and it is very unfair to the people who was kind enough to lend you credit. So, here is my excuse that I am not shamed to talk about, and do not feel good about. I will be able to come into the 700 club one day (in about 2 years) and when I do, I will always leave my personal experiences behind for the next person to gain from.

This is really good information....
Good luck!

I agree with your previous post Meya. This is definitely not the time to be applying for credit just because. I would only apply if I absolutely needed it until this mess is over.Wrong The rules have completely changed.True These are definitely new times in terms of credit.True I would work on what I already have.

One has to apply for credit not when one needs it but when one can get it, because when one needs it he/she probably already can not get it.

hi Meya,

1. i just pulled my scores and i got

719 (experian)[/B], 709 (transunion) & 692 (equifax)? do banks having same information, same scores i got? or most banks using their own methods to calculate scores which has nothing to do, or they scores never matched with what three credit bureaus have?

2. not long ago i got DECLINE for 5/3 bank visa card because i did not have enough scores to qualified for & never had a luck to get discover or amex cards. however, i just got approved for american dreams visa card with $500 credit line (i don't know why they gave me that much low credit line - because i have more than 15 credit history, no late payment, collection, bankruptcy or many inquiries within 3 years) - please help! thanks]

Exp FICO score has not been available for consumers since February, so if those scores are FAKO they are just useless, disregard them.
Some lenders indeed use their own scoring models or non traditional( classic FICO) scoring system. For instance, Alliant FCU uses EQ FICO NextGen 2.0 score, Kohl's uses Vantage Score.. But mostly they use those scoring systems for existing customers.

No problem darryl, glad it was of use! I just want to add one thing, the links that you have at the bottom of your post, are against Finance Globe Terms and Agreement. I remove the the links when I see your post, but I leave your post as is. I am not for sure if you have them set as your signature, or if they are added unintentionally, but you agreed (upon opening your account), that you agree to refrain from the use of spam. The two links that you are providing has been provided by our Author, Mary Tompkins, which is available in the Financial Articles .

Certain links are used when members are providing helpful financial resources, or when members are in The Lounge providing non financial related (but in compliance with Finance Globe) resources to each other (For example if someone asks for an online site to Ticketmaster.com because they were unsuccessful at finding it). Continued posts with the two links will result in a warning (Or infraction), or termination of your account.

Thanks for your understanding!

1. How in the world do you imporve a 798 credit score? I would love to hear this one...lmao! You are already in the "Top Dog" category, but then agian, I just thought about what you said when you were wondering why and how can someone get the 800 club victory when you have been doing the same thing all along.

2. Actually TU is my highest score (629 w/0 inq) and EQ is next (624 w/3 inq). Me and experian do not get a long (613 w/25 inq). Every where I apply, they all pull from Exp. What is so special about them? This is why I will be glad when Mike finishes the credit application/puller database so that I can be more informative about who should I apply from and the demographic areas. I think my area is red-flaged.

Huh, I thought I answered this in another post......:dumbfounded:

Meya, 5/3 is actually a bank (Fifth Third Bank). It is a regional bank based in Ohio. You will see them in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana etc.

hi Meya,

1. 5/3 decline me for unsecured visa card last June/09 - but approved me for $5,000 private loan in same week??? - i thought, getting approval for credit cards is easier than to getting approval for personal/private loan -

2. do you think my scores would be good enough for discover, hess (gas station) or amex cards? thanks:dumbfounded:

Hi qchau, I think I know what is going on. OK first of all let me explain something to you about scores. Scores, are not the only factor when you are out applying for credit. They take into consideration other factors such as....

1. Income to debt ratio, which is saying, how much debt do you have available in compression to your your income to back it up.

2. How much available credit do you have in comparison to your income. So lets say that you have $20k available credit and have $40k income per year, they are going to be afraid that you have too much credit compared to your income. Not to mention they take into consideration of what you pay for rent, etc.

3. You say you have 15 credit histories, is that years are cards? If it is cards, then they can deny you for having too many accounts (if fairly new). If that is years, then that is not the reason for denial because they love to see that.

4. The 5/3 bank visa you mentioned, is that that $500/$300 for a secured card? If so, I find that odd for them to have denied you for that, many people that I hear that was denied, had other problems with their credit for Bofa to deny them for as secured card. Have you tried calling in and asking for a reconsideration? Give it a try, it sometimes helps and maybe you will hear another explanation for your denial

Your scores are nice, keep up the good work, but i just wanted to tell you that, credit is not like it used to be anymore. When we were in here struggling to get to 700, we thought we were going to be the bomb. Now banks are expecting you to have 800 to be considered good credit. I can understand that the times have changed and they are going through this economic downturn, but you must bare with them until this mess is over, and what ever you do, stop applying for credit and work with what you have now.

What you see from one monitoring service, will not be the same at the next. You answered yourself correctly when you said, banks has their own scoring method. What it is, we will not completely know unless someone in here is a credit analyst for that bank....lol!

Exactly, we need to come in here and take a peek at what you guys are saying/doing. Throw the ladder down to us, we are some good climbers.

Man, 750, and you will have banks begging to take their loan. Trust me, 700 club is no easy feat. Just keep doing what you're doing and you will be fine.

Congratulations, once again.
