Try it after four months of payments because thats the threshold for cli's on the Walmart card.

Thanks for the tip eugene. =) I'll hit the Luv button again maybe sometime at the end of this month or next month...:white-flag:

I hit the Luv button on my Walmart CC last month, got a message that they couldn't give an increase at this time and I will be receiving a letter stating the reason why.

Got the letter last week and this is what they said

Got the letter last week and this is what they said:
"At this time, we are unable to approve your request due to insufficient experience at your current credit limit."

I wonder how long I should wait before I hit the Luv button again? I opened the account last January... I thought 3 months was enough... hahahaha! oh well, i better wait and be patient... :fun:

Good question! Since there are thousands of cards out there and hundreds at FG, I would say keep a record of how often you received a cli from your creditors. I used to call them every six months or less to ask for a cli. Some give it to you and some dont. The ones who gave it up every six months are the ones you keep asking. Credit One used to offer a cli every 7th statement and Hooter's did also. They may still be offering it to some members here, but they tell me "No" because my util is too high. I stopped because I was getting to many No's and I was afraid that they might start to give me a cld instead. Credit One does not offer cli's to me anymore, I have to call in and ask for one. Here is the catch, they charge you $25 for it:worried:

Thanks for the links Meya! I have the same question with Joeyman. :embarrassed: I felt out of the loop when you guys were talking about getting your credit reports split. My head was starting to split..

I love it, I love it, I love it! Was pretty attempted to redeem my points, but I will wait until the end of the year before doing so. It feels good to have a credit card from where you bank. It feels good whipping out a card from your bank that does not have the words "Debit Card" printed in the top right hand corner. Oh, by the way, the customer service is a 5+ (according to FG CS Level Rating). I had an incident where I had a double charge on my card. I completed the from online and it was removed less than 24hrs and a customer service rep called to inform me about the issue being resolved. I felt like a star

Wow!That really is great customer service.

Also, having a credit card with where you bank makes me feel organized and efficient. I agree with you..it feels good....:cheesing:

Banks are tripping these days. What it does is update the account specialist, they take a look into your past spending and credit obligations and say "Slice her, we forgot about this one"

:laugh:you're funny Meya...but how do we know which banks "grant cli every 6months or so"?

Just an instant click is all there is. But I do have Bofa linked over to it because that is the only bank that I use to pay my bills. I feels weird paying through US Bank. I have to insert a comment every month in Excel because that is where I keep records of all my monthly bill items and it seems weird for a particular column to always have a $0 in it:laugh:

Seriously, I will just leave it alone and let them do it by themselves. Some banks that use to not charge fees are adding them when you ask for a cli, and some are still free. During these difficult times with credit and cards, i will not take my chances with certain banks. I usually pick and nick with the ones who usually grant cli every 6 months or so.

A lot of people have asked for increases and ended with their lines decreased or account closed

oh, I thought asking for a credit limit increase just comes with a fee. I never thought it can decrease your CL or even get your account closed.
