If you can get the application status from their automated system, I would call and check at least once a day.

I know this is Nice cards to apply for but I did not want to put a review up on a card that I don't know if I am approved for or not. Well Thomas1, hjm331, and rockin35 convinced me enough to apply for the citi card. I went online and applied for the Drivers edge for students but when I clicked "verify info" all I seen was "Page not found 504" So I got afraid and called them. The rep said that Drivers Edge student card is an online only application. Since I was not going back and try it again, and it did not go through, I let him talk me into the Dividend Platinum Student card. Now remind you all, I was denied for this card about 1 year and a half ago, like a dummy I am trying it again since i know I have no baddies on my ex and I am hoping they are pulling from that one.

To make a long story short and to begin my clients hair, this application is subjected to school verification. Go ahead Citi, make my day, check the GPA while you are at it, maybe that will make you feel good about me. I am nervous than a animal going to the slaughter right about now. Am I going to be denied? Are they going to approve me? Should I have waited? are they going to pull from EX? Is my util too high for them? Is my scores going to take a hard hit? Is my feelings going to be hurt? Will my other creditors think I am out applying for too much credit? Heeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeee Loooooorrrrrrrrd! What have i done.......Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! I can't take the stress, this is a different feeling from Kay's. I feel like I messed up up big time. Let me say a prayer, maybe i will feel better :scared: :scared:

It didn't feel any better. I think the Lord know I messed up!

Pumbaablah, have you received the card yet? Once you receive the card, call the activation number on the sticker. Once you get past the automated system, you are going to be transferred to a live customer service (CS) rep. They will try to sell you their account protection services but tell them that you would like to close the account because your AF is too high. They will either reduce the AF or waive it. Take whatever offer they give you and activate your card because since you are in the rebuilding process, you will need cards like that to help you build history. HSBC is great for helping you build history, not credit limits. Keep the card, use it once a month, let them report to your credit reports and think about closing the card later once you get approved for better cards. Keep the card as long as it have a low AF or no AF. I'd pay a low AF to make sure that one of my oldest credit cards with a good history stays open because it is very vital for your score.

Good Luck

Thanks so much Kellbell, I forgot about whogavemecredit.com. Also, let's not forget to plug your scores into FG's Score Match, it is also a good way to stay within your means or qualifications! https://www.financeglobe.com/ScoreMatch/

Credit card statuses is really cool also, check it out https://www.financeglobe.com/Finance/credit-card-status.shtml

My BK was 2 years ago in January - Cap 1 approved me 300 -

Give them a try.

Salute did well with me too - 750 - started with 300.

Hope this helps
