jpnguyen's review: Callout Comment Applied with a 625 and was approved for $2400CL. I have only been rebuilding my credit for the past year. Started out with a 580experian score and a secured BofA platinum plus card($500), eventually got 2 additional department store cards(walmart, $300 and jcp, $200). FYI: haven't made an inquiry for the last 5 months. And only applied for this one card. Figured it was worth a shot as I haven't applied for a card in awhile and needed a rewards card.

I applied on saturday and was approved on monday. Didn't get instant approval but Chase hasn't pulled a credit report on me yet as my credit monitoring service hasn't sent me a text message.

Numerous sites say to apply with a 680+ but the market may be so bad that these companies are just giving away cards. Might be the best time to apply

Remarks Congratutions on getting the card that so many of us "re-building" would love to have. Chase would not approve me for anything. Anyways, your credit score is not just what they look at. Other factors include inquiries, utilization, # of accounts opened, derogatories, etc.

All I can say is that you are blessed to get this card with a decent limit.

Platinum Or Signature? User Icon on 2008-09-17

Remarks Did they give you a Platinum or Signature card? Their website mostly shows Signature. Most rewards cards are going the way of World MasterCard and Visa Signature because merchants have to pay the issuing banks higher fees for the World/Signature.
