hjm331's review: Callout Comment I've had this card for a year and I used it heavily even though this card doesn't have a rewards program. I've never had any late payments and started out with a $750 CL and received a $250 CLI (at my request) and stayed with the $1,000 for another 6 months.

Today, I checked my account as I always do in the morning to make sure everything is alright and I see that my Student PP Visa has been upgraded to a regular PP Visa. Now, this card doesn't have rewards but I am going to try to upgrade to a Worldpoints Visa.

When I saw that they upgraded my card to a PP Visa, I immediately jumped and grabbed the opportunity to ask for a CLI. I left the CLI amount empty and they granted me a $200 CLI. It's not much but definitely something.

Here's what I have learned when it comes to asking for a CLI. If you are asking for a CLI and they ask you for the amount of CLI, leave it empty. Just enter the household income and the rest of the info. I'm very glad I got bumped up to the PP Visa because the Student PP Visa came with very little options. They said that limits on the Student PP Visa don't exceed $1k and they can't upgrade it to any other cards. Now, I will try to upgrade it to a WorldPoints Visa or to the Americard.

One more thing, I know that a lot of people have been receiving a letter for denial when they ask for a CLI saying that their limit is sufficient compared to their income. Well, I used to receive that letter also but it's not true. If you build a good and long reputation with BofA, they will give you what you want. It's just a matter of time and on-time payments.

Remarks Yeah, it feels to receive a CLI from these guys even though it's a really small one. It feels like I received a CLI on my Orchard Bank card. Lol

Remarks Is there a good number to call? I called regular CS 2 weeks ago and said that I would be upgraded to a WP Visa and that I would receive a card with the same account number. Still haven't received anything so apparently the rep lied to me because she didn't know what she was doing. That really angered me.

Remarks First of all HJM your account number will change... Also it takes 3-4 weeks to receive your new card.

If she put it in after it was upgraded it should go through but if it was before then it may get rejected.

Credit Card Upgrade User Icon on 2008-09-07

Remarks I started from student credit card, to world points Visa, and finally got the Bank Americard. Spending around 2 years to build my credit history, I've got CLI from $1k to $10k today without using the card very often because I got three 5% cashback card, and I only used it for backup (after my 2% rebate card) and raise credit score.
