rockin35's review: Callout Comment I wanted to drop an update about my application for the Purity Visa through the First National Bank of Omaha. I applied initially on 03/31/08 and was told a few days later I no credit file/nothing/no cards/no history. I was referred to Transunion. I have Credit Watch through Equifax and MyCreditKeeper with all 3 Bureaus scores updating each month or I can pull it myself whenever I get ready. So I did that (TU/734 Fico) but I called Transunion and spoke to a machine forever!!. Anyways, I called again today, got another CSR who told me the application online shows the apartment # was entered where the "House Address" line should also contain my apartment# instead of entered in the separate field. She changed this on 04/15/08 and told me to call back this afternoon because everything else matched up. What a TRAIN WRECK!!!

If you are denied credit for an insufficient file, please question that credit card company and get as many details as possible. The agent at Purity Visa, made that 1 change and immediately my credit file came up

Remarks I have had this card fir a short time, but a good experience so far. When this gets straight, hope you can give the card a chance. Great rates associated with it as well. Good luck and hope you get a good credit line. Looks like you have good credit.

Remarks That is a scary story you just told whew! But check this out, a lot of people don't realize that when they pull their credit report on a constnat basis, they can cause their file to split. This is another thing that an get them in the situation like yours. Let us know when you get this fixed, it got me sort of feeling bad for you.

Remarks I've heard of credit files being split, but I don't understand exactly what it's all about. What happens when the file splits, and how it is bad on you?

Clarification!! User Icon on 2008-04-16

Remarks Let me clarify something. I used work for Telecorp running credit applications. We would process an applicant and leave off "4096 River Drive W." and Transpose it to "River Drive Rd" and this would cause an "INSUFFICIENT FILE" to come up, based on a missing apt# or street# or the S, or the W etc. THat is what happened to me. Apparently Purity Visa pulled my credit file from Transunion but when I submitted the app online, instead of putting my street apt# ON the same line as the street address line this caused an error when pulling it. The bureau didnt recognize my address as " 1234 Credit Card Lane W." instead the bureau pulled it as " Credit Card Lane" without the apt# or South or West. After they entered my apt# the credit file came up. There was no split of my report. I'm just simply saying, that mistakes are made daily with bureaus, with processing applications and mistakes this simple nearly caused me to have a COW! I hope this is clearer. They offered the card at $2500, I said thanks but no thanks. Too Many problems. Thanks everyone, I appreciate all of your comments!!
