yoyo11's review: Callout Comment I had this card for nine months. I like it. Starting limit was$450, available credit was $250 after fees, but I was glad to get this card. So far I had two $50, increases, and one $100. I think they love it when you pay on time. Since my 1st year of having this card is coming up, I hope they could do something about that $150.00 annual fee. I have the Salute Visa too. Although discontinued, I still get increases, about every fourth month.**Still can't get a Capitol One... Just applied what score should you have?

Remarks To get a capital 1 card you should have high 500 to mid 600. They do not give the best limits to start off between 500 & 1000. They are also slow too do line increases, as I was told "we are a conservative lender" AKA we made to many bad mortgage loans and are skipping along chapter 11. I would suggest Household bank MC. If you have had an account at another bank for a year with a good payment history they will most likely give you a card and after 3 or 4 months give you a line increase.

Remarks Two things, If you had this card and are coming upon your anniversary one of two things will happen. If you made all your payments on time and did not go over your limit they will give you another cli and it will be a nice one. Also re: the annual fee either they will waive it or reduce it substantially.

Regarding Cap one, they are doing the credit steps program for new customers. Whatever limit they start you out at you have to buy something, make three payments on time and they will increase your limit. What is being discussed now is how often after the initial increase do they continue the process.

Remarks Thanks for the comments Ash & Sethatco, I will be waiting for that increase w/Tribute. I will wait a little while longer before apply for Capitol One again. My FICO/546/572/525. Since I'm paying on my cards my scores did increase over the past few months. Let you know the outcome!

Remarks I have learned that the credit game is a long road, whether you made some mistakes or were the victim of identity theft. As a community of consumers we are all our best allies for helping one another get the credit we need and want, but at the end of the day. One someone does not follow thru on a credit obligation it impacts all of us as well. So having said that nice work on the card and the FICO score and keep up the good work.

Remarks I'm sorry when I first got this card Credit limit was $350, and $150 was annual fee, plus I gave them $20 to activate this card which gave me avaliable credit of $170. Three increase (3) $50. (1) $100, now my limit is $600. Had card since 5/07. I heard that after your first year... You will be surprised. I just like love this card. Just take time to post a payment, so send it early. Remember no need to ask for increase... No CLI fees... No fee to pay on line.
