I don't know much about HSBC other than the company I work for bought their auto loans when they stopped doing auto. I applied about a month ago. Approved for a 16K CL. I am looking forward to the cash back and the 150 sign on bonus after I spend 500 bucks. They did a hard pull on my Equifax which is 817. Looking forward to see what kind of bank they are since I deal mostly with Citi and my local credit union.

Awesome auto approval and an unreal CL! Back before the financial melt down I had an HSBC Cash Rewards MasterCard ($7.5CL) and an HSBC American Express Card (7.9% fixed Apr with 3.99% BTs and a $10K CL). HSBC was very good to me! Loved them and always could count on them. Then ... they sold the card portfolio to Capital One and I closed both my accounts. Missed them and even wrote them to hold on to my accounts but ... to no avail.

They did not require me to open any other accounts with them as a stipulation to opening this account.
