I decided to try a secured card to start the long road to fixing my credit. I liked this card because I didn't have to pay the whole deposit all in one shot. I deposited a bit each paycheck, they sent the card once I got to the amount I had decided on. I use a portion of the available credit, and pay it each month. After 6 months of paying on time, they increased my credit limit (so a portion of my limit is now unsecured). This card has allowed me to get another, regular unsecured card since then. I've had it for about a year and a half, and I use and pay regularly, I've never missed or been late on this one. They seem to report regularly, my score with one bureau has gone up nearly 80 points in about a year. Customer service is great, online account management is great, and even the iPhone App is wonderfully convenient. The online account management is geared, in my case, towards rebuilding....and every now and then I get a short email message, or ticker message on their site that reminds me I'm doing things right. It's helpful, really helpful.

That's great. Keep up the good work. I, too, have rebuilt. In Spring 2010 I had 548 and just yesterday I am up to 716.
