I received a "invitation to apply" for this card a few weeks ago. I was hesitant because I have always wanted an amex and have been declined in the past. I do everything online so I applied on the website but the website was having issues so I called customer service to apply over the phone. After a few short questions the representative asked me if i had permission to pull credit. Hesitant I said "yeahh". 10 seconds later she said "congratulations you have been approved". Arrival time for the card was quick. I applied on a friday and it was in my mail monday. I went on a vacation with some friends last week and used my card for the first time at a hotel. The agent told me that compliments of my american express I will be upgraded to a bigger room with restricted access. This card has already benefited me and I have not even had it a month. This is my first charge card with balance to be paid in full each month. Which is good because I wont over spend and get myself into any more debt but I have the prestige of having an amex. love it.

This is great! Now that you've begun a relationship with American Express you can expect additional cards in the future. I started with the Zync charge card, after four months I applied for the Blue Cash and was approved, I happily use my Blue Cash for every possible purchase.
I'm very pleased with American Express. Their customer service is superb, they provide email responses within 10 hours max! I like the recent website updates they've done.

I just called american express to ask a few questions about my reward points and why I havent accured any. I have to say I was a bit dissapointed. Kind of like when I call capital one I feel like I have reached someone outside the US. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but she didnt know anything. She told me the annual fee was $100.25 lol. Which its $125. So at that point, I said thank you and hung up. I guess I will just chat with a representative online to get my question answered.

Rewards are usually added within 3 days of a statement issue.

It is a new day! Congrats! Amex is back with the extras they were known for. This is why people carry American Express, to be treated with the ultimate in respect!

Its kinda strange for me..anyways i applied online so i waited..no response. so i call they ask me a couple of question so they told me ive been approve and welcome to the family WOW i was so happy next thing i saw the letter online saying DECLINE. so they mention wait for your letter with in 7 to 10 days..so its been 3weeks no letter yet pls help wat do u guys thing
