Twitter has been called a form of micro-blogging and to an extent I believe that this is correct. Twitter allows you to upload mini-blurbs about your day or whatever you would like. Usually the things you upload are small IE, limited to the number of characters in a text message. You can go to Twitter.com to upload or you can send a text message to 40404. Each upload is called a "tweet." People that are following you on Twitter will receive each of your tweets.
