I feel you on that one! I have heavy student loans about to hit the fan, and I spend sleepless nights worrying that am I going to find a decent job to take care of this huge bill. I can't keep filing deferments, and I am graduating in Dec 09. I know education is suppose to be rewarding, but will it reward me a good job to take care of my family? Huum, I should have went and asked Michelle Obama, she was in my hood today.

You know Meya I have been paying close attention to the unemployment rate in Cali hoping things would get better so I can come back. 11% isn't making me feel "warm and fuzzy". Recruiters have contacted me about positions in the Bay Area but they are 6 month and 1 yr gigs and no way I'm going to leave a FTE for part time work. So I stand on faith and think that "today I'm one day closer"

You know the saying "California is the first one to feel the pain of a downturn and the last one to recover from it" Things will get better though, they always do................

Good info Mary! I knew California was at 11 something percent, but after reading your article, I was shocked to see other states at 14%+ :relieved:
