none of the credit monitoring offer real results as far as the credit score goes its just a ruff estimate and they are taking peoples money like its going out of style and the ones in particular i am talking about is privacy matters 1-2-3,mycredit keeper and of course the big one of them all....myfico..

because when you go to buy a new house or a new car and when they say i be right back and pull up your info, especially the credit scores... you will be in for a rude awaaking when YOURS that you have dont add up to the ones THEY have which is the one they are going to rely on anyway and it outweighs yours

this is sad because now you have paid all this money to these people and you are not getting the satisfactory results you deserve of owning the american dream

according to www.ftc.gov/credit .....
in some mortage transactions, you will recieve credit score information for free from the mortage lender..............

this happened to me when i wanted to purchase a house but it was a one in a million situation it seems.....
so i am siiting down in front of the female agent with the computer facing the back of me and she pulled up the info..then she said..hmmm..i am going to pretend to go to the bathroom and i will be right back and turned the computer screen in front of me and left me there to review info for 30 minutes.......man..unbeliveable...
like i said this is just one in a million and on top of that i dindt get a hard pull and i kept getting the call from the lady saying that ANYTIME you want your credit score, baby, let me know...are you kidding me...

the moral of the story..dont pay them credit monitoring people jack

use your resources, network because you dont know who knows what that one person can be the answer to your finacial freedom without paying a dime

says uzipolo-king of decatur

UPDATE.................

well well well, i just got a email from my credit union DCU and now they offer FREE CREDIT SCORES FROM EQUIFAX once a month for DCU MEMBERS and they are soft pulls...i cant belive that!! wow!! i suggest you try to see if you can enroll in my bank i mean..just for the 5.00 fee to open up a savings account ALONE is beneficial just to get a free credit score( i said SCORE, not report)

julienne - Does applying for it have very strict requirements? No idea! Note, you can ask the finance person in a Ford Motor Company Dealership to give you a sense for your potential for approval. Usually, they pretty well know...

No knowledge of the credit monitor you are using but Ford Motor Credit has been very aggressive with 0% financing for up to 60 months. I am on my fifth Ford Motor Credit Loan for 60 months and the second one for 0% with 60 months (latest loan March 2010). They have been great and reasonable. Now to probably surprise you, auto dealers have access to autocredit reporting that you can't see so I have no idea how that relates to you. Go in and be aggressive... work your numbers and push for 0% for whatever loan period you need. Good luck! Also, credit unions have been known to be reasonable... on auto loans. Forget the big boy banks... waste of time!

They are OK! I have been dealing with them for quite a few years now. If you want a closer accuracy, go to FICO.com. I found Mycreditkeeper to be reliable enough for me. I just hate when I hit the 700 club, then I look up the next time I am back down to the 690's or 680's. Its OK, I know what is keeping me down....HIGH UTILIZATION!!!

If you use up your CL for a month's purchase but pay the full amount by the due date, is it still considered as "high utilization"?

I've been using mycreditkeeper for about 2 years now and just wonder if their scores are accurate and how to read their "Score Tracker" , the credit score graph. Right now my score's show as: EXP=684 , EQU=647 , and TU=638 and the Score Tracker show's my score as being 711. That doesn't seem possible to me. Am I reading it all wrong? I'm getting ready to finance a car and would like to have some idea of what my credit score is before going in to try and negotiate. I'm going to a Ford dealer... any tips on what credit bureau Ford financing checks? Thanks in advance for the help.

Freecreditreport.com

How accurate is this report compared to creditkeeper or myfico? I think the free report is through experian. How many points have you found they are off,if any?

Thanks
ohwoody

If you ask me, they are all full of crap! They are out to make money regardless. You would think freecreditrepot.com was more accurate since they are spending big bucks on commercial ads. But I do know that myfico is more accurate than mycreditkeeper. Mycreditkeeper is real close to myfico, so that is why I chose them, to save more money per month....lool

There's no telling for sure, the only way to find out is by purchasing your scores from myfico.com. Also, it's a good idea to get a hard copy of your credit report because you will see everything and there might be some stuff you won't see from third party services such as freecreditreport.com.

I use privacy matters 3 in 1 report and score from transunion..I was told these were fako scores but when I applied for something once I asked the person what my score was and she said 2 points less that what the so called fako was from privacy matters...just an fyi...

they aren't too bad though...but sometimes it updates my score(good or bad) but the change on the report isn't sometimes seen for a couple days...

you can try them for 30 days free...if they are still offering that ...it is privacymatters.com or may come up as privacymatters123.com
just my two cents!!!

Oh it makes plenty of sense Rokin35, I was that way with Truecredit. I don't know if you remember my posting, but I was tripping out because I had ordered a Cr from...I think eq, and when I saw how many times I pulled my report from truecredit, in comparison to the eq soft pulls, the dates did not match up. Truecredit was giving me the same reports, IE. duplicates from the previous. I do believe that if there is no significant change in your reports, you will receive a duplicate copy when you pull.

Think about it, the CB systems are familiar with when creditors post.....let's say that you have 10 cc right, each one updates when they statement cuts, have you noticed that some had bypassed a month or two from a certain CB? The system which is holding your file recognized the pattern of that creditor, so do your think that they are going to give you a current pull? Heck no! Now let's get back to those who update every month, most creditors statements cut in the beginning, mid, or end of the month, do you think your Cr is going to shoot out an update in between those gaps? Heck no!

I do believe that when we are pulling our reports, all the system does is check to see how many creditors in your file has made changes, so, if you have 10, and only 2 or 3 updated, you are going to get the same report you received the last time. This is just my opinion because I had finally made my decision to how I feel the CB and our monitoring services work. As for Mycreditkeeper, I have caught them delayed on some of my alerts, and this was recently. I am pretty sure that who ever goes through them, you have read the letter that states either "You received this letter because there was a change in your scores by 20 points (decreased/increase). That should have sent a red alert to why they are telling you this, that means that they don't even think about updating you unless there has been a significant change in your report. So do you think that when you are with a monitoring service, that allows you to update every 24hrs, will give you a true report? Not! Not unless there is a "Hummm, I think she/he should see this" change.

Attn: Meya,

I just cancelled Mycreditkeeper for good in January through Best Buy mastercard. The 3 in 1 service they offer for $9.95 are "Outdated" from 30 days prior. Meaning, if you pulled a new report effective today 04/06, it says the report is pulled from todays date, but those actual scores are from last months calculating model, if that makes sense.

What a waste!!!

I spoke to about 4 reps and one of whom explained things correctly. I also use "SCoreWatch" from Equifax, which from what I was told, gives your actual true score. I could never figure out why I would apply for credit last year thinking my score was higher than what it was.

So now, I only use ScoreWatch from equifax.

thanks Meya..! I figured that but I just thought because my utlization increased so much(well mainly because I don't have much credit or cards...lol) that it would still go up ...maybe 15 points or so..so am I still looking at the 3 months they say before they start going up because of that new account? I have 2 accounts that will hit the 1 year mark this month...that should bump me up to right? I know that last month a card hit the 1 year mark and I went up 10 points...
thanks..!
