Wow, how the holidays can really set back plans. Just a heads up, I have not forgotten about this project. This one's a very time-consuming one, and I just wanted to let everyone know that it is still in the works! :innocent:

Meya, nobody else is making suggestions, so I really do appreciate your feedback. I will get started on the next phase next week.

Hello fellow members! I know that everyone is probably tired from work, getting prepared for our next holiday, or just busy altogether. But, this is a very important issue here which needs everone who read and post here opinion. How many of us came to this site to get info about credit cards? I will be the first to raise my hand.
:white-flag:

When we ask questions about

1. What card is easy to get?
2. What cb did the creditor pull from?
3. How much was your limit?
4. Was you apr high?
5. Was the creditor BK friendly?
6. What was your score when you applied?
7. Does anyone know why this company denied me when I see someone else score worse than mines?
8. When does this or that card offer limit increases?
9. Do you think I should apply for this or that card?
10. What cards should I not apply for?
11. When aplyng for a particular card, I was approved/denied with scores less than what FG stated

OK I came up with eleven questions without thinking once about what I have read on the board. I can go further, but we all know what the next questions would be like. This is what our administrator is trying to prepare for us, our comments or suggestions can only make it better, not worse! Our input is valuable to the company and this is not what you will find on many of the boards that you look at besides this one. Most of them just come up with new ideas and change the board without your input(unless they are warning you about the site going down for changes that you have no knowledge about).

Let's all stick together in here and help participate with ADVANCED changes that are being made to our board so that we can benefit from it. Trust me this board was not made for the administrators themsleves, it was put together for the members here at FG. They can make canges without us, but what good would that do if they do not hear from us? We are all valued here at FG and we should show how much we value the site. The site is ours, so let's try and throw some good words in when optionally promted to do so. I know it will not be all 500 members posting, but if we can get nearly 400 posting in the fourms, I know we can get at least 25 in the suggestion box. I know we can do it because we have 23 in the polls. I know you all are probably thinking I am the a nussance but guess what, you are probably right...lol. FG offered this board to its members months before it started running so since I am a member, I am going to talk until I can't talk anymore. Unless they start charging per word.
YOU. I bet you will see that someone here was thinking just like you. Closed mouths does not get fed.

No more questions on my behalf, you have answered them strongly. I guess that I will leave it up to the rest of the members.

Replied by Finance Globe on topic Hi Meya, in short here

Hi Meya, in short here are the answers:

Ok on the applications that were denied/ approved, are you saying that the member posts are all-in-one(ie. do you want to see the results of what cards this member applied for), The main page will show every card (ability to search, sort, and filter cards). From there a user can select the card and it will show all postings AND averages, such as credit limit, score, % of denials. This will look similar to the reviews so people that are familiar with reviews will know how to navigate (I want to keep it structurally the same for ease of use). If there is more than one pull from a member, it will have a link to show all pulls by this member.

*Are they seperated (one posting per pull)? Yes. I have already worked in a system that will state if a member added more than one credit approval status for one card.

*When adding the pulls, is there going to be something like a query to search among what that particular member posted in the pulls? Yes. I will have a searchbox to perform queries on whatever I can - and that is useful to search

*Will it show the results for who all posted for that particular credit card? Yes, a single card will show all pulls for that card

*If dates are added, will it show because you have it set up for when they posted, or do the members have to add the dates? Majority of us will forget...lol. The form is asking for an estimated month and year.

*Adding one info is likely to happen for approval or denied, so are you designing a program that will keep track of how many times that person posted a status on a specific card? I believe it would be better and easier from my opinion in comparising to how we were only allowed to add one post per day to the reviews in the past. It is already programmed to allow members to see how many postings they have added, and will show if more than one is written for a specific card. As far as # allowed on reviews per day - that limitation has been removed since we moved to a member system.

* I was thinking more like an optional checkbox will look something like this]. This way an individual will have more positive feelings about applying more than once for a card, or have faith to try it again. This will be shown if more than one pull was added for that card. I know that this could be a little more lengthy to have to fill in the form more than once, but will give the member more options to post if applied more than once. It will also allow you to come back if you get approved in the future and repost your score(s) that helped you get the card. I thought about this on a few occasions, and think that this is the way to go...

Did I explain this right, or should I say it a different way? I don't even know what I am doing on a computer at 12]You're right on Meya. Thanks!

Hi Meya,

Thanks for the Vantage info, it will be valuable info for all of us.

Hi Meya,

Here is more information about the Vantage Score:
http://www.vantagescore.com/next_steps

It is a standard score that I believe will soon be in tough competition with the FICO Scoring model. It is 1 score that should be the same among the big 3 - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Finally!

As of now, it looks like Experian is the only bureau that allows consumer access to their score. But I think that will change when the score is popular enough among lenders.

As far as your attempted application question, I designed the bones of the program to allow numerous inputs (i.e. application 1 on Feb 2005: Denied, application 2 on Aug 2007: Approved) that will show all of the details the member adds. If the member wants to only add the info for 1 result, he or she can mention so in the comments. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks!

Mike

One more comment. When i read the reviews, I always here members say that they, "Finally got the card after so many attempts". I have said this myself about Target and Walmart. So, how about adding a selection where it will ask, how many times did they apply for the card and was turned down, or how many attmetps before approval. Something in that nature I guess. Tell me what you think about it.

You are so welcome! It is a good thing that we are not like no one else. Hey Mike, I was asking you to talk about the Vintage Scores. If I am not mistaken, isn't that the new sytem that took over FICO?

Thanks for the input Meya, just what I needed!

My comments and questions

1. Does a person have a chance to come back to these posting or is the info permanent? What happens if the person does not know which cb was pulled during the approval/denial? What do they add then? A user will be able to add to credit limit increases (up to 3) and modify comments. I may add a FAKO or estimated FICO if the user doesn't know which cb was pulled.

2. I think the CLI should be a entirely different datatbase. Once the individual recevied the card, thier first questions are "When should I ask for a limit increase". Or "How often does this cared offer limit increases". I have not seen this on any baord (besides a thread) so let's be the first. Great idea, I will keep it in this database to lessen confusion, but will make the input in "months it took" to get a cl increase, so people can see the time and $ amount averages - I like that!
It's already there, just hidden until "Were you approved?" button is checked.

4. How about a section where people can add thier "Baddies" or "Inquiries" when they applied for the card. If could be the main reason for approvals/denails. Can do as an option! Maybe # of recent inquiries over the past 12 months?

5. Since some poeple are not aware of "Vantage Scores", now is a good time to tell them (or should I say me) Please do!

Ok, this is all that I have for right now. I know some of you here have some suggestion that you may think is relevant. Dont be scared to add your 2 cents to the thread. What you don't know is that your information might be worth the doallar. Yes! This database is definitelly for our members! I want to make solutions that work for you. Thanks!

From my opinion, I beleive everything is good and ready to start.
:white-flag:

In comparison with other boards, this one looks differnet by not trying to look exactly like others. I llike the idea that you used "optional, but extremely helpful to users" it give individuals a choice of privacy with thier income. If forced to use it, you are going to see a lot of people making nearly $200k per year. I see this on boards where people has put an income of $200k per year from a city where the economy is low, population probably 4,000, credit scores in the 700's (supposeably), own a home (so they say), never had any baddies, and "Total" is thier main creditor. It just doesn't adds up! Yo see wierd things on boards so tha is why I am gald that you have it optional, becasue it might decrease chances of someone being force to add inaccurate-useful-information, when all they wanted to do was tell you if they were approved or not.

I am working on the latest project that many of you have suggested. This is a new program that I plan on releasing before Christmas, that will allow people to post application results on a card. It will give potential applicants a way to compare credit limits, scores, hh income, and other useful items before making a decision.

I am looking for some feedback about the questions asked that could help you determine a card that you would likely be qualified for based on other's results.

I am currently in development phase, and am appx. 1/2 finished. So I will leave suggestions open until the end of this week. Please, this is a perfect time for requests. I cannot guarantee that I will add everything asked here, and will have to consider "asking too many questions and requesting too much personal information". The banks get upset when I collect too much personal data, since we work with the majority of large banks.

I plan on making this into a new section, very similar to the credit card reviews. All cards that have inputs will also be cross-linked to reviews so users can see this data before making an informed choice.
Here is a sample input form & will give you an idea of what is being asked:
