Wanderer, I use my cards in a rotation, I am VERY diciplined! I show activity on so many each month, then switch! Its working out very well for me, and MyFico future predicts me to be in the high 800's in two years! I know alot of lenders hate to see lots of open trades, but I have found its been a great score booster for me! Not to mention the fact most credit unions and banks use an automated underwriting system now, each time I have needed a line of credit rather it be a car loan or an increase on my credit lines, its always went system approved! There is this new system that credit unions are going to, its called Loans PQ and Account Express, the neat part of this program is they can integrate it into their core system, so when you go online to either open up a checking or savings account, it will soft pull your credit report and system approve you for other products that institution offers as well! Alls you have to do is click the offer, typically a Visa card, personal line of credit or a car loan! Then a rep from their institution will confirm you want that product, and you close on your loan by electronic signature! That Simple! This new program has increased most credit unions loan product sales by 86%! Thats amazing!

WOW! I am impressed. How do you keep all these cards active and paid current? What I mean is I almost forget some of my cards so I have to pay close attention to see that they get paid. Just checked and found there are eleven bank credit cards, two department store cards, one gas card, one bank LOC and one business bank credit card.

Great mix of cards. Scores are there. After awhile (years) you may even be able to weed the garden if needed. My biggest challenge is trying to use all the cards I have and pay them so they show current use/paid. Really would like to close a few but can't afford to as my "average age of account" would drop due to too many new cards and no old cards (like 12 to 16 years).

I used to have a TON. I started weeding out the ones that were not treating me right; I cleaned house.
