Went into the bank and was told if you have Direct Deposit already, it is not going to affect you. She did not state an amount, just told me I was in the clear. But, my husband's account is going to $8.95 in June, and he has "my access checking." :worried:

I don't think he is going to bother it because he uses that account to cash his checks only. He would be charged an arm and a leg some where else, and they will charge him $5 to cash his check if he does not have an account. It used to be free since the checks were drawn by Bofa, but the company's' account no longer offers free check cashing at Bofa for employees. Huuuum, I use to have a free account with Bofa because I had a direct deposit. I do believe that they are charging for all accounts. Take a look at the splash page everyone. I saw the link inside my account while I was signed in and paying bills, and I was like, "What is that there for?" Well seems like they are going to raise it to $8.95 per month, as of June 5th, 2009. I am going to call in and m121000358ake sure, if that is the case, they can go goodbye, because I just got in with the cu anyway...lol.

I have a MyExpressions, MyAccess checking account with BofA. My account is totally free because it is entirely online (no BofA's in Colorado, has a VA routing #). I did receive a change in terms (CIT) and it states that if you were currently paying $5.95 it is being raised to $8.95. So it sounds like mine should still be free, but with BofA I wouldn't be surprised.

Also, I thought if you had direct deposit of at least $500 a month then the account is free.

Let us know.....I sure as heck will not pay for that account , but it would suck if I had to close the account before I used my checks.

At first yeah, but it has been that way since at last October so I figured it was kosher.

OK, just got off the phone with them! :relieved:

OK, I am calm now, but they said that is around Xmas and it is possible that someone was trying to get into my account but they just did not know my site key. So for security reasons, they locked me. I did not use the code they sent to me online, and I did not punch or speak in my account number nor debit card number, because I was still scared, just asked for customer service and she did all that for me.

Like a dummy, I did not know that we are not suppose to bookmark our banks. The rep told me to take that out of my bookmark and just type the full name of bofa dot com. When they upgrade or change their sites, I will still be in the old version which may not be safer than the new one. So I immediately removed my accounts from my bookmark, wheeeew! Problem solved, now you all know just in case it happens to you, see ya all when I get back....lol

Check this story out. I checked my regular email account today and I received a message from Bofa saying that I was locked out of my account and here is a code to use to get back in. Well of course, I forward it to It turns green for you too? Thank God, I thought something was wrong with mine LOL.abuse@bankofamerica.com like always because I knew it was a spam. I never thought any thing of it and I always keep the spam until I get an reply from Bofa stating that it was a fishing site. Well, just came home to eat some food, check in on here and went to Bofa site. I signed into Bofa and up came the site saying "You have made too many attempts of signing in and not answering the security question correctly!"]

I checked the authentic certificate of the site and it is valid. I also know that my browser turned green recently when signing on to Bofa so that is all good. But I am not going to sign as of yet, I have not went back to my email and used the code they sent me earlier, I am going to call and ask is this true first. Just wanted to give you all heads up on my incident before I go back to work. If you see this message, call in and make sure that it is correct. Will update you all in a few, or soon as I get off of the phone with the bank.

BOA all the way!

They're ok, just don't close an account (credit card) with them, it's not easy to get back in the door. I did and they basically blacklisted me for a while and I bank with them.

I guess the lenders have decided that it's better to have your card maxed out rather than report the limit and have the balance higher than the limit.

I would not see why not they wouldnt report your limit..no preset spending limit does not mean no limit..Everytime you would make a purchase that would go over your limit it is evaluated on an individual basis, and if it is approved it must be paid by the next statement.

Smcc, I believe you misunderstood me. I was saying how it was a good thing that BOA was reporting your Visa Signature as an FSA instead of a regular credit card because when the credit analyst sees the balance on the card without a limit, they will know it's a card card without a preset limit.
