WOW! Casinos... we need to be careful as it may become a habit and several of us have been credit challenged. Taking on unplanned expenses chasing the allure of a big win can further bury us. The idea of taking just what we are comfortable with and won't starve if we lose the funds works. But bad credit and casino debt is a prescription for trouble.:white-flag:

leave your credit/debit cards at home so you can't spend anymore than you came with.

Nooow you tell me! I experienced that back in the late 90's, when my best friend and I went to Reno. I whipped out my card and used every dime I had on there, then was looking stupid all the way back home.

Where I live, there's not much to do but go to the casino. I guess it's ok to go if you're doing it to have fun, but if you're going to try to get rich, I suggest staying at home. To me, we're doing nothing but making the rich man richer. Good Luck if you decide to go!

Gambling is a vice, just like smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.. Thing is if your going to gamble only take so much with you and leave your credit/debit cards at home so you can't spend anymore than you came with.

The lure of winning big is a huge one of course, but I don't think it's wise to use your money in that way. If you're doing it for fun and can afford to lose what you bet, enjoy it but to me it's madness to fritter away your life savings there.

If I had to choose, I'd prefer a game with at least some skill involved like poker where you could learn rather than chance like roulette. Anyone that has some degree of skill in it has the upper hand of course. Since I'm rubbish at cards and can barely play snap, it doesn't appeal to me at all. The closest I come to gambling is the stock market and that's exciting enough for me. :)
