I logged on to pay my Chevron/Texaco card and I went for the luv button for the first time thanks to reading over at www.creditboards.com . I didn't even have an idea that I could do that at the site.

I got a $200 increase. Here's the trajectory of our Chevron card. We got it jointly in 2006 with a $600 limit. Automatically increased to $1500 last year and then several months ago right before we got our new Chevron/Texaco card now owned by GEMB, we got an automatci CLI to $2k.

Now, it's at $2200 and I will try again in 2mths.

So far based on my $5400 CLI in the last week and a half, my utilization rate has decreased from 64% to 51%. That is a decrease of 13%.

I wonder by how many pts my fico scores will be affected. I'm going to try to pay it to 49% because i read somewhere that your scores are affected in bands from 10-30-50-75-90%.

Do you think that I should expect a bump in my scores all other things remaining the same and no charges to any of the accounts? I am hoping so and I'm also hoping for soem positive action re my disputes with the credit agencies as well.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

It means that the computer wasn't able to approve your request so an account specialist has to review your account in person to determine if they can approve the request or not.

Despite my CL being decrease a year ago from AmEx, I have paid down my balance and thought it be sufficient time to request back what was lost.
So I did request for a CLI but they gave me the "Your request has been submitted....Recieve a response in 7-10 days." Does this mean that I was not approved for the increase or that it takes time to process?????????

Every 6 months is a good time to ask for a CLI. Every 3 months sounds greedy.:fun:

Moved from other thread.

Ok, I got the answer myself. I called the# and requested a CLI and I told her that I did not want a hard pull. We had just purchased quite a bit of materials as we are in the mdidle of a project.

She said that she could look internally and she approved us for $6400. My original limit was $3205 so that is an increase of double my original limit.

This week has bee great for me. I was inspired to ask for CLIs by reading this board and I got 2 for both of my Cap1 cards today, 2 for both of my Macy's card this week, sam's last week, and Orchard this week.

My daughter got JCPenny and Citi increases last week by pressing the luv button.

The Lowe's CLI will greatly improve my utilization. I can't wait to calculate it.

I just called Home Depot and they require a hard pull to which I said, 'no thanks'. I have no intention of using the card, I just want to help my utilization rate so that I can get a quick 10pts or so added.

I will say that the JcPenney pull cost me 2pts on my fico score.

Congrats on the increases! I will be asking for some increases including Capital One when Christmas time comes around. I will use the good ol' "I need a little bit more room because I'm going Christmas shopping." I hope it works.

Hjm331, my last CLI for Cap1 was late last year. I went from $500 to $2000. ON my other card, I never had a CLI. The $1500 increase was automatically done. I checked my TCredit service one day and I saw it had increased, then I got the letter.

I never thought to call and I have had both cards over 4years. I called the backdoor number today from this site 1/877 513 9959.

so now, today, I got 2 CLI of $300 for each CAp1 card.

Thanks.

I have had the macys for over a year and never cared to increase my CL. After finding this site I went ahead and called to request one. It took 10 minutes to get to a rep but she was prompt and courteous with my request. I was eligible for a $500 increase and she asked if it was ok. I was satisfied with it being that i do'nt make "big" purchases just for clothes mainly so I approved. It brought my total credit limit up to $700.
I then inquired about the Macys Visa. She told me that I needed to provide a couple of security questions and a letter will be sent out of decision form the Visa card division. I went ahead and did it. So I'll be looking out for a letter or something in the mail and keep you posted.

Hello all,

Yesterday I posted over on the card reviews about my Tribute Card (I posted about this card on the site earlier). Well long story short I was ready to close out this account because of the fees yada yada yada. So a couple of days ago I called and politely asked if my annual fee could be waived and the answer was no (ok no biggie). So imagine my surprise when I checked online and found out that my CL with them is $1150 (started at $300.00 last year) and they waived $50.00 off of my AF. So I've gone from $300 to $950 and now $1150 in a year's time.

This is my oldest TL and I will keep it alive until my BofA card turns one next year.

Thank you everyone here at FG

You better work it out LOL!
