Fixed Income Security
Definition: A security whose nominal (or current dollar) yield is fixed or determined with certainty at the time of purchase, typically a debt security.
Fixed Payment Mortgage
Definition: A loan secured by real property which features a periodic payment of interest and principal that is constant over the term of the loan. All fixed payment mortgages are fixed rate mortgages, but some fixed rate mortgages may have variable payments, such as graduated payment mortgages (GPM).
Fixed Premium
Definition: Payments of a fixed or equal amount paid to an insurance company for insurance or an annuity.

Definition: An offering of securities at a fixed price.
Fixed Rate
Definition: A traditional approach to determining the finance charge payable on an extension of credit. A predetermined and certain rate of interest is applied to the principal.

Definition: A loan secured by real property featuring an interest rate that is constant for the term of the loan.
Fixed Trust
Definition: A unit investment trust consisting of securities that were agreed upon at the time of investment and do not change.
Fixed-charge Coverage Ratio
Definition: A measure of a firm's ability to meet its fixed-charge obligations: the ratio of ( net earnings before taxes plus interest charges paid plus long-term lease payments) to (interest charges paid plus long-term lease payments).
Fixed-dollar Obligations
Definition: Conventional bonds for which the coupon rate is set at a fixed percentage of the par value.
Fixed-dollar Security
Definition: A nonnegotiable debt security that can be redeemed at some fixed price or according to some schedule of fixed values, e.g., bank deposits and government savings bonds.
Fixed-income Securities
Definition: Investments that have specific interest rates, such as bonds.
Fixed-price Tender Offer
Definition: A one-time offer to purchase a stated number of shares at a stated fixed price, usually at a premium over the current market price.
Fixed-rate Loan
Definition: A loan whose rate is fixed for the life of the loan.
Fixed-rate Payer
Definition: In an interest rate swap, the counterparty who pays a fixed rate, usually in exchange for a floating-rate payment.
Fixed-term Reverse Mortgage
Definition: A mortgage in which the lending institution provides payments to a homeowner for a fixed number of years.
