Board Of Trade
Definition: Any organized exchange or other trading facility for the trading of futures and/or option contracts.
Board Room

Bond
Definition: Bonds are debt and are issued for a period of more than one year. The US government, local governments, water districts, companies and many other types of institutions sell bonds. When an investor buys bonds, he or she is lending money. The seller of the bond agrees to repay the principal amount of the loan at a specified time. Interest-bearing bonds pay interest periodically.
Bond Agreement
Definition: A contract for privately placed debt.
Bond Anticipation Note (BAN)
Definition: A short-term debt instrument issued by a state or municipality to borrow against the proceeds of an upcoming bond issue.
Bond Broker
Definition: A broker on the floor of an exchange or in the over-the-counter market (OTC) who trades bonds.
Bond Buyer
Definition: A daily publication featuring many essential statistics and index figures relevant to the fixed income markets.
Bond Buyer's Municipal Bond Index
Definition: A municipal bond price tracking index published daily by the Bond Buyer.
Bond Counsel
Definition: An attorney who prepares the legal opinion concerning a municipal bond issue.
Bond Covenant
Definition: A contractual provision in a bond indenture. A positive covenant requires certain actions, and a negative covenant limits certain actions.
