Credit Card Rewards: Questions to Answer

Credit Card Rewards: Questions to Answer

Are you in the process of comparing reward credit cards? If so, you know there are hundreds of options to choose from.

While each offer is worth your consideration, there will come a point when you need to make a final decision. If you’re on the fence and unsure of how to move forward, here are several questions to answer:

•    How do you earn points with the credit card?
•    What can the points be redeemed for?
•    Is there an expiration date attached to each point that you earn?
•    What are the other details of the credit card?
•    Does it have a good reputation among current cardholders?

These may not be the only questions to answer in regards to a reward credit card, but they are definitely among the most important.

For example, you should take a hard look at what you can redeem your points for. After all, what good is it to collect a large number of points if you don’t have anything to use them on? If you find yourself in this scenario, you may want to take a look at cash back credit cards.

You’ll soon find that you can answer these questions by conducting a bit of online research. Along with this, don’t shy away from contacting credit card companies by phone. There’s no replacement for actually speaking with a representative about a particular offer.

There are many benefits of carrying a reward credit card, so you may want to think about adding one of these to your wallet. Before you do, answer the above questions to ensure that you’re making the right decision.

Do you have any other tips for comparing reward cards? Would you add any other questions to this list? Share your feedback in the comment section.

Any time I am researching a new credit card, I always like to call the credit card company and talk to a person. To me this helps me answer questions I cannot find online. Sometimes you can also get bonuses they can offer to you over the phone!
