If you are simply seeking to improve your credit rating and find convenience of a credit card for your purchases at your local REI store, this could have its benefits, however, at the higher APR of over 17% and the rigidity of customer service severely lacking in regarding the customer as a valued patron... I would not deem this credit card as a valuable one for choice. Even with the very small percentage that you will receive as 'end of the year' dividends offered with use of this card at the REI stores exclusively, the added percentage only applies to regular full-priced items and certainly not worth the very little that you will receive in return for your invested time and money with this card.
