Yeap, that's how they did me and I found out from them also that it's so much fraud going on they have to make sure it's you who's applying for the card. After I sent everything in to them a wk later they sent the card with 2k so don't worry. You will probably get it!!!

Fraud Alert on 2007-09-24
My husband and I also have these cards and they did ask for my drivers license and ss card. But only because I have a fraud alert on my credit. My husband was approved instantly and did not have to submit. I think that sometimes it goes off your credit score and how many inquiries you have.

My fiance received the same letter yesterday about mailing in or faxing proof of his identity. In his case it may be because we moved to another state about 3 1/2 months ago. I am glad that they are taking extra precautions... Better safe than sorry!!!
