gmac's review: Callout Comment Applied online today and was approved with a 300 dollar credit line. I am new to credit once again, after messing it up when I was 18. This is the second Credit Card I've been approved for, the first was Capital One in Dec. 07 with 500 cl I just received my 250 90 day cli for that card. I am also a co-applicant on the Best Buy Store Card w/ 2000 cl this was approved in Jan, and, was only approved because of the Primary Applicants Credit history, so I was surprised to get the Wal-mart Card with less than six months of Credit History, I hope after I prove myself they will increase the credit line. I also want to use the backdoor number for Capital One but I will wait seeing how I just received by 90 day increase.

Remarks Hope you enjoy your new card!

Make sure you use responsibly because it will make a huge impact on your report since you're in the building process. As long as you take care of it, it will take care of you.

This is great info for everyone that wants to build/rebuild their credit. Store cards are the way to go if you build to build a strong and healthy payment history on your report. If you need a card to use everywhere such as a VISA or Mastercard, go and apply for a secured credit card. You will have to deposit the money upfront but as long as you make your payments on time and don't go over the limit, you will get your money back around 6-9 months depending on the agreement.

Do NOT apply for cards like First Premier Bank, Tribute, Rewards 660, Total, Continental, Aspire, etc. All they will do is make you pay $200-300 upfront and not give you your money back! I recommend the Bank of America secured credit card to everyone because they are the real deal. You pay them whatever you want and that will be your credit limit. Make your payments on time and don't go over your limit, you will get your money back and you will be able to apply for better cards.

Remarks Wal-Mart was one of my first cards as well. I used it to the max, use to always draw out $20 whenever I would do a purchase. They were fairly generous with the increases as well. Just $2-300, but they were faithful about doing it every 4-6 months. I ending up axing it during my credit clean up. Still it's a great starter card.
