This option took me awhile to build up the trust for automated systems (two years) but today, only way. Love auto-pay (at least the minimum) so if I am gone or forget, I do not get in trouble with the lender or other payee. In the state where I reside the US Postal Service eliminated all but one processing center (serves over 5.2 million people) so reliability for on time delivery is running 4 to 8 days maybe. In the news the USP confirmed the unexpected longer delivery times and this raises havoc with mail in payments. Glad I went automated!!! The USP finds the mail volume dropped 25% to 40% and can not justify the service levels or afford to provide them so if you are concerned, consider automated payments.

Totally agree. If a utility company doesn’t allow online bill pay, then auto-draft is the next best option. My garbage company does this, I just had to mail in an authorization form once. Nearly anything to save time will win my vote!

I would completely agree with everything you said Chris. I would also add.
1. Record keeping – Paying online will store your payment history so you can keep track of your payments easier and can help you with your budget
2. Security – Online payments are typically very secure and safe. Mailing a check can still be stolen, which can cause you hassle to cancel the check
