HSBC/Orchard Bank Credit Cards

Question to all my Orchard Gurus

Although some may disagree. I say it is not, especially since it isn't his oldest trade line. Since he does have a high credit line with his credit union credit, having that one with such a low limit may be actually hurting his overall credit portfolio. Just my opinion though.

Great question to which I don't think anyone knows the answer to. Orchard might want to keep you as a customer but then agian if you're not using the card they may not see the value in having you as a customer and might cancel you. Legally if you don't owe anything on it you don't have to include it in bk. Let us know what happens.

Have you tried applying for the Capital One card?

I got it with low scores like 630s I have had it for 2 years, they haven't raised my cl yet, they did wave the annual fee though...

I have a Orchard Bank card. I have been reading that HSBC has three levels or stages to their cards and numerous outlets such as Best Buy. I put my information into the HSBC Prequal website and it says that I pre-qualify for their Platinum 2% Cash Back card. I know that HSBC is not the best but is it worth trying. I am scheduled for CLI on my Orchard but was told to wait until this month to apply for it. Any suggestions or advice for those who are familiar with HSBC cards is appreciated. Thanks!

You know what, they have a "Bill Pay" page that pops up when paying your bills on-line. It tells you what day your payment will post to your account and they send you a confirmation to your email address. I think for all of those who are mailing payments, you should take advantage of their on-line bill pay. It's very easy, secured, and free. This sill cause for less conflicts with late payments (or late posts).

Hey Guys and Gals!

Does anyone have any experience with Orchard Bank's "payment holds"? It's really frustrating since they held one of my payments. I have been doing a payment every other week for this card and suddenly they hold my 2nd payment that cleared my balance. They kept giving me the same excuse that they are trained to read off to each customer with concerns!!!!!! The same old it's your banks fault excuse, which is stupid because I talked to my bank who cleared the payment in one day!!!!!! Anyway I tried twice to get them to release my hold but they keep saying that they don't have the power to release it. BS!!!

So now, I'm looking for a new CC that I can use along side this one to help rebuild my credit. One that won't drive me nuts with crazy CSR and who will actually clear my payment like real and uncorrupted CC companies do!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions? My scores are in the low 600's.

By the way, Orchard told me that if I want to avoid payment holds period, then I should use western union or money gram to make credit card payments. Does anyone know if it's safe, or is it another BS stalling tactic they use to earn interest? I bet they will say something like my money gram was lost or put into the wrong account (I've had friends experience this with Orchard before!!!).

What in the blue hell is Orchard talking about[/quote]

You would have to apply for it. Although it is HSBC, they are seperate cards, but both are for rebuilders. My husband got the card, and I tell you, his credit is shot to the curve with no corners

Hey ... shot to the corner and then some... started with the Orchard Bank Credit Card and then applied for a Household Bank Credit Card and from there I applied for an HSBC Credit Card. The moral of the story is HSBC Financial has more than three levels of credit cards. The basic is the Orchard Bank Credit Cards (early rebuilders - subprime), followed by the Household Bank Credit Cards (next step up if you need it), followed by the regular prime HSBC Credit Cards and ultimately with at least $500,000 in assets the Premier HSBC Master Card. Note in all the mix is the HSBC American Express Rewards Credit Card with FICO Scores of approx. 763 which is in it's own world.

Question to all my Orchard Gurus:cheesing: I had DH call the back door # to ask for a CLI I made sure that it was a soft pull he just PIF last week $200.00. So they asked him a few question how much does he make and the CSR said I am gladly to say that we can give you a credit increase of $100.00 making his limit $500.00 WTF... I know it's Orchard...lol...

DH has had this card since 12/06 started with $300.00 PIF utilization is every other month because of the limit what can you really do. So my question is should I just have him close the account, He has a CU Visa limit of $8500.00(and I I have 2 CU CC with $10,000.00 limits) and we just joined NFCU last week haven't applied for anything yet his Equifax score is 653(scorewatch) was waiting to get him to the 680 mark on EQ.

This is his oldest CC but not his oldest TL. Is it really worth keeping it open?

Thanks for you input.

I agree, that's kind've of one of those situations where you dont even want to bother setting yourself up for the rejection..... They havent done anything for me on my BestBuy MC and its been over a year... I told the rep last month that if they dont give me a CLI and credit towards my annual when it hits they are going bye-bye...She told me to be sure to call in when the AF hits and they should be able to do something....

Ok well that definitely sounds promising so make sure you call them. My card is just a regular Orchard Bank Card
