RivasGlo, don't waste your inquiries. They pulled my report twice for a CLI in the past 2 months and denied my both times! They are just unbelievable. I'm glad I gave them the boot.

Direct Rewards Discover through HSBC is a piece of crap. The only thing good about this card is the Discover logo. The interest rate is 22%, the limits are small $750. The only thing good was the no annual fee and the crappy 0% BT for 1 year is crap to as the CL is only $750.

My HSBC Direct Rewards Discover has an interest rate of 18.99% and I got a CL of $900... On this card they only do auto CLI not by customer request! That sucks :upset: ... Ive had it since umm... Feb/2008... We'll see at the 6 month mark and the 12 months mark...

I called HSBC to close my BB Rewardzone Mastercard and an outsourced rep transferred me to a manager. The manager picked up and said "hello?". Why in the world would you answer the phone like that if you work for one of the biggest banks in the country. I told her that I didn't need the card because they didn't increase my limit and gave me a high interest rate. She tried giving me a 9.9% APR on balance transfers, not purchases. I told her that I have better cards and don't need the BB MC. She was pretty upset since she couldn't convince me to keep the card.

Shark6, you should've asked for a manager. Call again and ask for a manager and see how that turns out.

Sidestepping the Young & the Restless going on above...lol!

Orchard Bank card is giving me a 14.90% interest rate so I don't understand the DRD high rate.

I'm not charging much these days as I'm working on my utilization. However, If I had to choose, it would be Macy's because of all the coupons, sales, extra 15% for using the card, the CLIs etc and the AMEX. So far Amex has been great to us, the perks are great, the extra warranty and the offers to pay over time instead of PIF. Home Depot gets honorable mention for their auto CLIs.

The worst card in the world award goes to Sears. We clicked on the luv button on their site 2 weeks ago and requested a $1k CLI. This is the first time that we have ever requested a CLI in all of the 12-14years that we have had the card.

We got a message that it required further processing and it said that it would be a hard pull. Sat. we got a letter saying that your request was denied because it was not enough time between the last request. We were floored as we had never, ever requested a CLI.

I got my DH to call the CSR Monday evening. She said that it was a system error and for us to submit the request again although she couldn't gurantee that it would not occur again. Duh! I told him to ask her to process it herself as it didn't make any sense to go on line again.

Drumroll please ****** She was only authorize to give us a measly $200. I went off and asked her if that is how they treat their loyal customers. Over a decade and only $200 CLI!! Our limit went from $1810 to $2000 which isn't even $200. They can't add, that is an increase of only $190.

And so the worse card in the world award goes to SEARS!

My DH said he is only to balance transfer the balance asap!!!

Eric, how is the Capital One cashback rewards program? Do they have cool rewards or what? I was thinking of upgrading my regular Cap 1 MC to the Rewards Visa after my accounts have been combined. I put in another request since the last one was declined so when my accounts have been combined, I will have a CL of $3550.

HSBC has a limit on the number of accounts you can have with them and it seems like you have already have met the limit of cards you can have with them.

When I was approved for the Orchard visa, I applied for another HSBC card and was denied because I was only allowed 1 card with HSBC. I was recently approved for the Best Buy Mastercard offered by HSBC which makes 2 cards. I am wondering if HSBC will allow me a third card as I wish to apply for the Direct Rewards card. What do you think?

Meya, gold diggers is the correct term for women like that nowadays. I let them spend about $50 anyway, not too much.

I find that very nice from a young man such as yourself hjm331 about using your Macy's card to purchase women nice clothing. But, I would hope that you are not out there just exploiting this expression to a woman because they are out there targeting men like yourself. Take it from a woman who use to milk men for these reason back in the days. Back then it is what we called a "Vapor" someone who is out for one thing which is material things. Now they are called what? Gold diggers?

Shark6, I'm not going to close the store card, I'm thinking about closing the Mastercard. I just don't need it and they're not giving me any increases.

As for my Macy's card, I won't buy any woman a pair of Coach shoes, Louis Vutton Bags, Chanel Sunglasses, or a Dolce & Gabbana dress unless it's for a woman that I truly love and trust. I don't trust women that I'm only going to spend a night with because they will take your stuff and leave.

My goal is to increase the limits of my BOA and ESPN Visa cards because I like the way both BOA and WaMu work.

HJM331: I think that your collection is just fine. I notice that you don't have a gas card, that might be something to add to diversify your mix as long as you PIF at the end of the month.

Best Buy: I wouldn't close it. IMO, at least for me, it has it's use i.e appliances, electronics, computers etc.

I see that your Lowes card has a low limit so you might want to hold on to the BB card until your Lowe's limit increases.

Macy's : Well, if this is the place where you take all the beautiful women to shop, you need to be calling the backdoor number every 3months to get those CLI as the Coach bags and Guess shoes can cost a pretty penny.

I think closing the Orchard was smart as it only had a small limit and all of your other cards have $1k or more.

Good job.

By the end of the year or next year, you should be ready for that Green Amex.
