cabana7's review: Callout Comment Was upgraded from Platinum Plus Visa with a $2500

credit line to this card with Worldpoints... No credit line increase but I never carry a balance... Would like to receive credit line increase just to boost scores from the low 700's to maybe mid 700's but won't ask for increase will just wait 6 months to a year to see if they do it automatically. Bank of America customer service is also first rate.

Remarks Congrats on your upgrade to Worldpoints. I would wait for BOA to increase your line on their own. You have several inquiries lately, and if they pull a bureau you may be denied based on that.

Give them some time, they will take care of you

Congrats on your upgrade

Remarks That good news to hear, especially with all the credit horror stories going around. Santa smiled at you for Xmas, take it and run with it... Lol. Thanks for keeping us posted with your credit stories. I know this will give Bofa card holders some type of hope to look for in the future.

Remarks Thomas, I know you know better than that. BOA does NOT pull hard inquiries when you ask for a CLI.

This is definitely a great card to have. The rewards might not be the best but take advantage of the fact that it's BOA and it's a Visa. Since it's a Visa, you can use it just about anywhere credit cards are accepted and that allows you to make it your cards for daily purchases. If you heavily utilize your BOA card and don't spend out of control, BOA will reward you with some nice CLI's along the way as they did to me.

Remarks Thanks Hjm331 for that answer. I did not know BOA didn't do hard pulls on cli's because I don't own a BOA product.

I would still also suggest to anyone, and have seen with mine own eyes, that even with a recent upgrade, that BOA could pull a report on a cli request.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did given the credit situation in America today. Maybe we need to hear from more members who have requested a cli after a reward upgrade. I have assumed the constant with other banks in the past, and have been wrong. If you don't need the cli, wait for them to give it to you.

World Points Visa And CLI User Icon on 2009-02-05

Remarks Hello. I had the Secured Platinum Plus Visa with a $2k limit for 9 months before I was upgraded to an Unsecured Platinum Plus with a $2500. In that same phone call (02/04/2009), I had the CSR transfer me to the regular (unsecured) credit analyst to convert me to a better BOA card with rewards and give me another CLI ($500 just wasn't cutting it, especially when I was already familiar with folks getting at least double the limit from BOA). I got both--$4000 CL and a World Points Platinum Plus. I was asked about both my income and how much I pay in mortgage and that was that.

Also, for CLIs, it's better to ask for one on the phone and hit the CLI love button online. Folks tend to get the higher limit, from what I've read and seen. I will write a review on this card when I have received and used it.
