tia530's review: Callout Comment Good day all,

I have been banking with National City for approx 6 years. I have several accounts with them including my mortgage. I held a secured Visa for approx 12 mos with a $1500.00 limit.

I applied for a regular Visa approx 6 mos into the secured account with no success. I used the secured for small purchases, paying off in full before due date.

I called into customer service to inquire about having my secured account "graduate" to unsecured. No dice!

National City does not graduate their secured cards.

I applied for the regular Visa again, this time with success. I love National Cities rewards program as I earn rewards from using my debit/check card. I got a whopping load of points when I opened my mortgage as well. I linked this card to my debit card and was instantly awarded 8,000 points. I could not link the secured Visa to National City points.

No AF, APR 9-19%, 0% balance transfer (not sure for how long)

National City has retained a satisfied customer.

Remarks I will update this review as I use this card. I have earned a few points already for two purchases, paid off already also.

ColoNative, how are you? It appears National City was purchased by PNC? As a long time customer, this is the first I have heard of this. I wonder when National City will let their customers in on it. I have never heard of PNC until after reading your post. Thanks for putting me up on it.

Remarks Hi Tia. Yes, National City was having some trouble and some people were fearing that it would fail. So, they sold out to PNC. It will probably take a while to get everthing approved and changed over. I live nowhere near Ohio but I have always liked National City, sorry to see it go. I am just glad that PNC is an American bank.
