kimmi's review: Callout Comment I am also trying to rebuild credit after a car accident 8 years ago caused me not to be able to work. The only problem I have had is they did not set up my pin number. Called customer service and got that straightened out. I have never had a problem reaching customer service, and I have had no problems getting to the website except for when they were making website changes. I have had none of the problems other users are talking about. I will add that did those who cannot get to the website ever check to see if their browser settings or firewall settings are causing a problem? I have a disability benefit card that only one browser lets me get to online. Sometimes that happens which is why I have three different browsers. And a firewall will not always let you know if it is blocking a particular site. Sometimes you will simply get a page not found error.

Remarks Just wondering if any of you registered for the IM. I did and it is very helpful especially for sending RE:'s to someone. I like this site and majority of the ones who speak pretty often and give forwarding advice (like myself). I am willing to spend my available time in here to help those (newbies) by sharing my experience with ccc's and my personal credit rating. If anyone has joined could you please let me know so we can all take a stand with advice or up to date information to those whose scores and inquiries are less fortunate (not saying mines is the best, still have a few dings) this will help out the newcommers that read up on a particular card and run across information that is not related to the card itself... I'm in!

Check Out Carefully Before Applying User Icon on 2007-07-31

Remarks First Bank of Delaware seems to attract many negative reviews on the financeglobe.com web site. Looking into their Better Business Bureau report, one finds five complaints in the last 36 months. Recently, they have been advertising on television using an old TV actor (Gary Coleman) as the underwriter of cashcall.com. Reading the fine print, it says that "The APR for a typical loan of $2,600 is 99.25% with 42 monthly payments of 216.55." That's $9,095.10 over a period of 3 and a half years, folks.

Please pay attention to the fine print when dealing with companies such as these. Knowing the facts can save your credit history and score. There are unscrupulous lenders out there, so please do some research before handing your credit history to just any credit company or bank.

Thank You Tribute I Think Your A Good Company! User Icon on 2007-08-02

Remarks After reading everyone reviews, I am STILL happy to own this card. Yes, they have a high annual fee, but what can you expect? This company deals with ALOT of risky people. I unfortunatly, filed backruptcy 5 years ago, so, I am attempting to build my credit.
As far as this company calling to harass, uh, Ive never been called once. Probably because I pay my bill on time! Isn't that what you are suppose to do? I bet if you paid YOURS on time, they wouldn't call and harass you. They just want the money back that you borrowed.
So anyone that is looking to improve your credit and will pay on time, this is a great card!
As far as not being able to understand the reps, yeah, it can be difficult at times, but its not THAT bad!

Re: Brian & All Tribute Members User Icon on 2007-08-09

Remarks Here is something for all You Tribute Members to read about:

Tiubte is not a member of the BBB! They are located in GA and is NOT, I repeat, is NOT a registerd member. Stop letting this company rip you out of something that you should have learned about from experience, YOUR CREDIT! Copy and paste this link to verify my accusations; http://www.Atlanta. Bbb. Org/commonreport.html? Bid=27028847&language=1

[This company represents fraudulent individuals who is targeting those with poor credit because that is they're means of getting paid.] For those who says "Oh this card has done me justice and took me in when no one else would", Guess what? Charles Manson gave a woman a lift who was walking when no one esle would give her a ride, and then he turned right around and slit their throat. You will be posting right back in here (or somewheres else) with the BIG RED X next to "Recommending this card." This card has the most postings (especially negative postings) in this credit review. I bet you your bottom dollar if members that has posted about Tribute whether good or bad signed up and shared experiences about this card, everyone in here would shut it down. I know that we are desperate to rebuild our credit but never get desperate enough to trick yourself into thinking you have a credit card when all the time you are being Pimped by an unknown Creditor... Tribute. Yes I said "Pimped"! You are selling yourself short just to receive $50 while Tribute collects $250 of a limit you was never going to get in the first place, and then Tribute PIMPS you again by charging you to pay THEM, one more... Tribute PIMPS you again by charging you $150-up for every year you choose to stay around them. So what does that mean? For every little credit limit increase they give you through-out the year, they turned right around and took it back from you. They are making YOU look stupid just to add their name to your credit report and make you think you are doing fine! For the vicitms that made out alive, you are blessed. For those who have not, pick your pride up off the floor because what ever you have done to yourself in the past should not be the reason why you had to turn to this card. When I decided to rebuild my credit, my scores was 380-410, but I refused to apply for a card that was going to beat me like a slave just to be reintroduced to the credit world again. I would rather be denied keys to a Rolls Royce than to accept someone like them. I am not speaking against anyone here, but please look somewheres else first. For all of those who thought about this story twice, do yourself (and the members here) a favor and sign up for the IM (Instant Messaging) where you can receive some "Real Life Adivce" from those who has been there and could possibaly help you get there. Nothing feels better than advice from someone who is or was worse off than you. Give it a try!

I Don't Understand U Ppl User Icon on 2007-08-10

Remarks Please someone tell me... Why r so many ppl upset because of these fee(s)...?? I mean what do u expect?? These companies somehow must look after there on back... Don't get me wrong you have slime ball companies out there that's operating unethically. But bad credit is bad credit-- no way around it. These companies are taking a chance on you just like the good companies took a chance on you until after decided not to pay them. Ppl just expect to be handed a "golden spoon' right off. Then sum of you admit to have terrible credit but talk on-and-on about "capital one sucks because they denied me twice, Washington Mutual is full of sh$% because they denied me after a pre-approval offer... Continental Finance are scammers because they charge $250.00 in fee(s)...". Stop blaming these companies and start blaming yourself. True enough it's hard to maybe pay those fee(s) but once u have and get sum history going maybe you'll have enough decent credit to apply for something better. I know because of this post sum may b angry... But the truth is the truth.

RE: Djohnson User Icon on 2007-08-10

Remarks Yes people may have bad credit, but there are other good companies out there that would give you a chance without ripping you off... The fact that 1. They are not members of the BBB 2. There are lots of negative reports on here. That should speak volumes by itself... I also had bad credit and got a card with Orchard Bank and saw my credit score soar with only one fee: $35... That was it! You can also get a secured card. Yes many people don't like that, but if your going to pay this other company money to get credit, your better off getting a secured loan and the money is still yours in the end. Look at the reviews for orchard bank. I think they are pretty descent. My personal experience has been great. When I started off with them, my score was 534, after 6-8 months with them, my score is 677. True Story. I don't work for orchard bank nor do I get anything for saying this, however I've seen it happen. Also, it takes time and patients. Also, don't go over 35% of your credit limit. I hope this helps someone. I have been on the same boat for years, not getting approved for a damn thing!

Remarks U-go-Girl! Thats is what I call, sharing experience to those who are not aware of the card and for those who need to leave the card alone. No one in this forum or this good green earth diserve to be treated like a second grade dummy. Even a prisoner receives a second chance. When someone is trying to improve their credit, people like you and I will be right there for them. Thanks for sharing your past experience with credit. Now lets get you registered... Lol! I sent you an RE: under Walmart but I forgot to add my name. Take a look at it so we can PM each other.

Re: Djohnson7000 User Icon on 2007-08-11

Remarks Hi Djohnson

You are somewhat right about your review about credit cards companies losing money. The fact is that some people have not been paying their obligations. NOT SAYING that they don't want to. NOT ALL people that have had credit problems didn't want to pay there credit cards. I know this from experience myself AND customers that I work with. 97% of the customers who I talk to WANT to pay there credit cards. With unemployment on the rise and a shaky economy, keeping a roof over there head and food in their stomach takes priority over credit cards. ESPECIALLY if they have kids. Im NOT going to eat a customers lunch if they are unemployed laid off and trying to keep the car and house payments up. Im 28 and now looking back on how I ruined my credit when I was in college 10 years ago leaves a sour taste in my mouth. If I could have done things differently I would have but I cant get that back. Thats why I do the right thing NOW. Pay my credit cards and mortgage every month. EVERYBODY deserves a second chance when it comes to credit. I don't think we need predatory credit card companies out either for people trying to start over. Like Yanira said, there are GOOD credit card companies out there. I always suggest to people starting over to go to HOUSEHOLD BANK, ORCHARD Bank, CAPITAL ONE or get a secured credit card from your bank. YES with the secured card you may be paying $300 for a credit card but if used wisely and the payments are on time then you will receive your deposit back along with interest. So D before you run off your mouth just remember everyone deserves another chance at credit because of some unforseeable event happening to them year ago without getting ripped off by the predatory credit cards that are on the market now with there ridiculous start up and monthly fees, and horendous customer service.

Stay Away From This Card! You Are Warned User Icon on 2007-08-31

Remarks I have said this once and I will say it again this card is fraud and a guy earlier in these post said it is not a bank and it is owned by a person. They are here to rip you off. Again You are warned do not get this card I was here earlier posting in 2006 and again to help anyone that needs to know. I have a rewards 660 card and a total Visa card. And have had know problems. Not a one. I have had a horrible exsperience with these people and they still send me statements. I don't even have the card but they are not reporting on me they just sending me statements saying they canceled the card. What!! This has to be illegal for them to rip people off like this. But I really need to check if they are. And if they are I will sue them guaranteed!!! I mean why send me a statement if I do not even have the card. It's rediculous. Again it is fraud and you should run. Now this is my last warning if you want your life to be peaceful. I have had a horrible experience. I am just mad as hell what they done. You can see my earlier post I had last year but I kept this on my bookmark to see if anyone else was experiencing problems and I see I was not the only one. What a shame. Stay away. I am actually telling you to RUN!! Fast as you Can from this card!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! Run!! And never look back!!

Remarks Hehehehehehe! ANTOHER EXECUTION. Some people love the card but I would rather work at Mustang Ranch, a least I wll get paid for it. Good Luck to those who enjoy the card, But I will constantly say that this card steals so good it's like "Stealing the salt out of the cornbread that has already been cooked." You should do more than bbokmarking Errol, sign up with us and you could hear success/horror stories abut plenty other cards that members have experienced or experiencing.

Re: Meya User Icon on 2007-08-31

Remarks No offense meant for those who have this card but, it seems that people are trying to app for credit without first cleaning up the credit they have and its a lot easier said than done. Just cause you get a pre app doesn't mean you have to apply. This card is one of the biggest rip-offs in the industry. More apps saw my shredder when I started rebuilding credit than you want to know about.

A little attention to detail after pulling your own report can have you back on track in a relatively short amount of time and it will cost you less in the long run.

I have watched people's scores go from the 400s to the mid sixes in a matter of a year just from making smart decisions and making sure that everything on their reports are reporting correctly. You don't have to pay some rip off credit repair organization to fix it or pay some outrageous fees for just breathing on a card. A little patience and elbow grease is all it takes.

Re: Laquanna User Icon on 2007-09-04

Remarks God I hate it when individuals get this card. Laquanna, although you may have encountered a horrible experience with this card, I have to tell you one thing that will speak for this card and any other card you apply for. Paying early does not mean that you paid your monthly statement on time, if you do not pay attention to your statements, you can harm yourself. Let me explain this in a different way, majority of credit cards have a 25 day grace period which gives you a chance to pay off a balance without being billed a finance charge. Let's assume you made charges on your card for $100 on the 5th of August and your grace period is from August 1-25th and your bill is due by Sept 1. You decided to pay $20 on the 10th, $20 on the 15th, and $20 on the 24th. Well guess what, you are going to be charged a finance charge on the remaining $40 and now your bill is due for the 1st of September regardless to the payments you have made on your card. There is a certain time frame for the payment that you have actually paid the bill, not the balance. A lot of people have that part confused, thinking that because they made multiple payments during the grace period, it should be considered as a payment for the acutal bill due date. I have heard a lot of horror stories about Tribute, so your best thing is to pay them off and close the account. If you need any help or instructions on how to not make that same mistake, sign up with us and I garauntee you that members here will love to share financial advice.

To Whomever Is Concerned User Icon on 2007-09-10

Remarks I have come to believe that the whole reason for those of us who are rebuilding credit to come to a forum like this is to get some insight on personal experiences with credit card companies. I can honestly say that I have come from this site a lot wiser about my credit choices as well as being an active FG member to help the next person frustrated with their credit problems. To the individuals who feel they need to leave personal comments like calling people "stupid " for their choice of payment to a certain credit card company that not too many people 'here" are happy with, is uneccessary. We are here to learn from each other not tear each other down. Anyone care to add?

My Comment User Icon on 2007-09-10

Remarks AMEN! Steph, you could have never said it better. A lot of individuals are blinded by ignorance, and respect is no where in them. Those individuals need to practice codes of ethnics when entering any board. When browsing credit forums from many different websites, it was searched for specific reasons, someone is courious about a particular card that they have or trying to apply for, been denied on numerous occasions, looking for the best credit card, or to see if someone else was mistreated by a creditor in the same fashion as they were. I stumbled across this site by searching for credit myself, not one time have I entered a site and misjudged someone because of their opinion. My life is full of happiness, goals and success, I do not have the time of day to disrespect another indiviudal because of their opinions regarding a credit card. My motto is, "Never talk down on someone unlesss you are trying to pick them up." When someone posts horrible stories about a card, FG members are here to support, share, and provide the best information that we can give them. While other board members characterize individuals due to their lack of credit status, unfimiliar with code words, being new to credit, or poor financial background they not only loose a member they lose reputation. To find a credit message board where members are all friendly and respond like teamplayers is like finding a needle in a haystack. There are an abundance of credit boards out there, but when an indivdual take the time out to stop here, their visit is highly appreciated. When a member stops in here to insult another person regardless if they are a member or not, we do not tolerate it and your visit was a waste of your own time NOT OURS. WE are going to get visitors from time to time with huge synapsis gaps but since we can't control our visits the best thing we can do is ignore them, and report them to FG so that they can be removed from our site. They are just looking for attention that will not be given here. To all the Tribute, Aspire, Total, Contenintal, Imagine, First Premiere, etc. Cardholders, no one is here to talk down on you, we are glad to have anyone here from the worst to the best credit standards. Not every Tribute cardholder is a person of damamged credit, majority was once AMEX holders also. Mistakes and unforsceen incidents are flying pass all of us day by day, we just have to be prepared. I have learned a lot from members here and other credit forums just by reading their horror stories and sharing mines. I am glad to have members like Fg, I believe I have boarded the right ship. If any one does not like it, we constantly make pit-stops at the TRAIN OF HELL STATION... Is that your stop?
