Takes Time And Utilization User Icon on 2008-11-11

Remarks I had a card from Orchard a few years back while I was rebuilding (it did the trick, Im now prime only). They didn't give me any CLI either for the first year, then offered me another card instead of a CLI. I Took the additional card then merged them together into one larger CL. From that point on, I was able to request an increase every 6 months and get it. From my experience, they like to see significant utilization and nearly PIF each month... Only carry over small balances (less than 10% of your CL).

Remarks Orchard is so tight until they squeak when they walk. This card is just a door opener for the rest to come. Someone in here received a $20 cli, now that was disrespectful. I have not had an increase from them in over 1 year and I have been faithful to them for 5 years and they still wont show me love. Turn to your other cards for cli's and don't worry about this one, you can forget it.

Remarks As I always say, HSBC including Orchard Bank is not a card that will you give CLI's. They are just good for reporting history onto your report and building credit. They will help you get those cards who give you CLI's like clockwork.

They Are Terrible User Icon on 2008-11-11

Remarks I've been with them for almost 5 years and my current credit line is only $800.00 and out of five years I've only been late 1 time and that was in the first year. The limited started out with $300 as you can see I haven't gone far yet

Remarks According to many of the posts here, the fact that you've been raised 500 in the past 5 years, you seem to be making a lot better progress than most.

Just continue to make on-time payments with this card and before you know it, you will be off with another company and with some better terms.

ORCHARD, Or HSBC CLIs : ( User Icon on 2008-11-11

Remarks Orchard Bank along with its parent company HSBC do not offer generous CLIs and if they decide to give you one its like a year or two later and as Meya said can be as low as $20. I got a $20 CLI on both the Orchard Bank and my BestBuy RewardZone Mastercard each. Ive had both cards for two years. They suck in getting CLIs.

Card Is Only For Credit Repair User Icon on 2008-11-11

Remarks I had this card plus Household bank and due to no credit line increase I closed them. I mean there are not bad to repair credit and they don't charge fee's... Only a annual fee but if you can get better cards and your FICO is high don't bother with Orchard Bank unless you want a low credit line. How ever if you are fixing your credit stay with them for a couple of years until your FICO goes up.

Take care,

Alex

Remarks If your not paying a annual fee keep it open, but look elsewhere for better cards.

Unexpected Nice CLI From Orchard User Icon on 2009-03-15

Remarks I called Orchard yesterday, just 3 weeks before my 1 year anniversary to request a CLI. And to my surprise the rep tripled my CL from $300 to $900!! I was really hoping for a $100 increase, not $600. The killer part was that she didn't even charge me a fee for the increase, and there wasn't a hard pull on my credit report! I guess I was just having a lucky day.

Remarks This is good news! I last heard of them giving someone a $25 cli, that made us fall to the floor and I have not asked for a cli since. I keep getting the denial... Lol.
