dhaz's review: Callout Comment Got a pre-approval letter in the mail for this card. Letter stated "up to" $30K limit. I have often thought of getting a Wamu card due to the PFICO that comes with it, but kept reading about all of the bad things Wamu has been doing with their cardmembers. I recently have been reading how Wamu has adopted the new "standards" that are being introduced to congress for credit card practices, even though they are not required yet to do so. I thought I would give them a try. I have not been disappointed yet! I received the full $30K offer and have spoken with several Customer service folks, which were all very nice and helpful. While I admit that I have yet to have this card for even a single statement cycle yet, I have been impressed so far. Card came with a %0 balance transfer until October 2009. While I will not use this feature, it is nice to have. They pulled hard on TU, and my scores are 787 (TU), 808 (exp),738 (equ), and 982 (vantagescore)

Remarks Congrats on your new card. WaMu has been hounding me with offers lately. Everything from the ESPN to the regular Platinum to their Platinum with the color option. I seriously considered this card, I love ESPN but I need another Visa/MasterCard like I need a hole in the head. I forget, does this account have the dual cycle method for APR?

Again, congrats on your new ESPN and that credit limit is really insane, watch out with that.

Remarks Yes, this card does have dual cycle finance charge. It also has a pretty hefty %APR (8.99% + prime). Overall, their terms are terrible. My understanding was that after they adopted their "new" terms (ala congressional hearings), they up'd the APR. Because I got this card mainly for the PFICO (save $100+ annually), and since my credit cards are mostly PIF monthly, these terms didn't scare me away. Having gas cards (penfed/perfectcard) and rewards (Amex Blue) cards already, I too got pre-approved offers regularly from Wamu (my wife too) on several different types of cards. I thought the ESPN benefits were cool and different, so wanting to get the free PFICO, I decided to go with this card. You never know when you might want to use the concierge to get tickets to a game! Having ready reviews about Wamu being stingy on CL, I wasn't expecting much (hoping large enough to justify the ding to the score for the inquiry and new account), but was pleasantly surprised. The granted $30K CL should further drive down the util and hopefully boost up the credit scores. This card would definately not be the first or only card in my wallet, but the PFICO was too hard to turn down...
