rsty99's review: Callout Comment I got this card as a Ameriquest rewards card but then was changed to this Platinum card due to their relationship changed. I have cl $1100 and have had no problems. Trying to rebuild credit from a layoff a few years ago.

HSBC Platinum Mastercard User Icon on 2008-09-21

Remarks Recently requested a Credit Line Increase on my three year old HSBC Platinum Mastercard (opened 2005). The customer service representative got me a $1,000 increase by phone up to $4,000. Requested a second increase and HSBC hit two credit bureaus with hard hits and denied me. HSBC is tight on CLI's! FICO Scores were TU 707 EX 707 EQ 697.

Remarks HSBC can be finiky on cli's, but be very careful, you've applied to several banks and stores. Your scores are going to take a big hit now, especially with HSBC pulling out 2 hard hits. I would settle for now, and get some real history under your belt. In time, your scores will rebound, but applying for more credit now will more than likely result in denials.

Seems like you've had a lot of terrific success, good luck!
