chuck's review: Callout Comment Like many people, my mail box receives at least one Capital One credit card offer every couple of weeks. Last year, I decided to respond to one of their advertisements, and I received a Capital One Platinum Visa card. The acceptance letter indicated that I would receive a $500 credit limit that would be increased to $750 after 90 days of on-time payments, and it would be increased to $1000 after one year. The 90 day increase did not occur, and I had to write their customer service department two letters and file a Better Business Bureau complaint for any action to be taken. Telephone customer service was useless, and online email requests for help told me to call customer service. Eventually, the increase to $750 was made to my account at the 6 month mark. In February 2007, I reached my one year anniversary and the $1000 increase was not made to my account. I contacted customer service, and I was told that this offer "had expired" and was "no longer available." I had to again file a Better Business Bureau complaint against Capital One for this violation of contract, and I am awaiting a response from Capital One still to the complaint.

Remarks Whenever somebody complains about Capital One I have to wonder what is really going on. I have never had a problem with them, they were my first credit card and now over ten years later the card is perfect; upgraded to Gold and then Platinum, my APR was lowered twice and the account has a $10,000 limit. Usually when they deny CLI's it is because a payment was late, credit limit was exceeded or something suspect is on your bureau. So, what really happened?
