brian23's review: Callout Comment Ok, so I could have done without the inquiry on my report, since I am currently trying to get approved for an fha mortgage, but I couldn't control myself. Went online, applied, said to check back within the hour. Waited 2 hours, went online and said I was approved for 1500 cl. Don't know about about interest, but they pulled from experian which was a 598. Hope this helps!!!

Remarks Congrats on your approval!

Be careful if you're applying for a mortgage. They won't want you to apply for any new credit during the mortgage application process. It will hurt you big time, even kill the approval.

I have bought 2 homes, and each time I was warned not to apply for any new credit until I had closed on the loan, because they pull your bureaus at the application and right before closing to make sure you haven't. Just be very careful. I'd hate to see you lose it due to a credit card shopping.

Congrats But Be Careful User Icon on 2008-08-14

Remarks What Thomas1 said. Be very careful, not only do they pull at app, they pull right before closing and may pull right in the middle as well.

A hard inquiry and a new account can also decrease your Ficos which can have a direct bearing on your interest rate or your approval.

It is not worth getting a Kay card if it screws up your ability to secure a FHA mortgage.

I would advise you not to apply for anymore credit until AFTER you have settled.

Congrats

Remarks I am very happy to hear about your approval, at the same time, Thomas1 and Shark6, you 2 just gave up some valuable info that I never knew about. I don't think this is explained (about mortgage) in none of the threads. When you two get time, can you please explain this in the mortgage thread that YoYo1 started:

This will be very important for those who are trying to purchase a house. Brian23, this is a blessing to hear about and I think it should be taken into great consideration.

Congrats on your approval!

Question Brian123 User Icon on 2008-08-14

Remarks You have about the same score I do... But do you have any negative items on your credit report such as bankruptcy, collections, late pays. Etc... If so when..? Just trying to determine if I would get approved.

thanks!
