jamie's review: Callout Comment It was strange that Bank of America approved me for this card, but previously denied my credit increase for my established Bank of America Gold VISA. My score was close to 700.

I am happy with the AMEX and the rate offered. Highly recommend it to all.

Remarks Hey Kevin, I'm in the same boat with a motherload of inquiries this month. I did pay to recheck my TU score again though, I was so worried. It did drop... From a hard earned 651 to 595, man I was so depressed. But heard that once my new cards kick in ( Travelocity, Hoooters, Walmart, Target, Dillards, Chevron, PayPal, CerditOne, Sears-yes Sears, they declined me but I called to talk to rep and said to send current paid utility bill and she would send a card!)) my score will go back up. I was turned down by By Amex Blue-BooHoo, Citi and Capital One (they were in my BK in '04). Also by Lowe's, which I wanted really bad because I shop there all the time for home improve's. I think I have ended up w/ 24 inq on my report for the past 2 years, but last year I did Mortgage shop. My plan now is wait awhile. This is my experience. Did you get any approvals from your inq's? Me, I did so I'll just roll w/ them for awhile and recheck my score in a month or so... I'll follow up and let you know where it goes. Sorry for the long note.

Remarks Kevin, keep in mind that Amex uses a number factors to approve someone and it isn't always your credit score. Even though your score is in the 700's maybe your income didn't qualify or it could be the fact that you have so many inquiries. When a creditors sees that you have been apply for credit almost every day, they become suspicious and concerned about lending credit to you. It could also be that you have newly established credit with no payment history. I know it's very exCiting to apply and get approved for credit after getting declined for so long, but you may want to slow it down and begin enjoying the credit that you already have. Soon enough you will get your Amex card. By the way, if you applied at the Amex website you have the option to receive and view your decline letter online instead of waiting for it to arrive by mail.

Remarks The only advise I can give Kevin is to stop inquiring for credit. Let things cool down for awhile. Awhile would be atleast a year... Within that year-the new credit that you have acquired will start showing some credit history. 30 Inquiries in a month is ALOT of credit inquiries. Do yourself a favor and stop with the hard inquires... You have a good credit score that can be affected by the inquiries. Remeber credit card companies don't want to approve someone that they feel is desperate for credit and may screw them over (that doesn't sound like you with a 700+ credit score) and with all those inquiries it would look like you are to them.
