ding's review: Callout Comment I recently received this card, after I applied online... Was approved for 5K, received it in about 10 days, this card gives you an account number that you can print off and take it into the store to start using it the very same day. My scores were in the lower 600's and I had applied for several others when I received this one... This is a farming store with kids clothes, Columbia coats and clothes, and Levi's and more... It has everything for a farm and more...4 wheelers... Lawn mowers, bikes, stereos, furniture, depending on which one you go to...

Remarks This is one of the reasons why you should apply for a store card. If there is a certain store that you shop at, you should apply for one of their cards, use it heavily, and pay it off and do the same routine over again while you are building credit at the same time!

Ding, you made a smart move and I wish the best of luck to you.

Remarks The JcPenney card is good with CLI's after 6 months of solid payment history.

Remarks Congrats on the new card. I may have to go down to my local Atwoods and apply for a card even thought I said I wasn't applying for any more cards. Atwoods is a farm and ranch store too. I think I could use a new riding mower for my 3 acres.

Remarks Never heard of this store before but hey, they gave you a $5k CL which is cool. HJM is right... Store cards are generally the way to start showing the BIG DOGS (Visa, MC etc) that you can handle credit. I usually advise young people to start with a simple BofA or Cap1 card then get a Macy's, or a Walmart card. Astore that you shop at frequently. After a year you will come from no credit to some credit which will help in the long run.
