islandlo36's review: Callout Comment I have had this card for 6months now. I have done very well by using the card and paying in full every month. After the 3rd month I got a CLI from $200 to $500. Does anyone have a redcard with $1000 CL or know how long before this is upgraded to a Visa card?

Target CLI's User Icon on 2008-06-28

Remarks They come far and in between... Ive had my redcard for a year now and still I have the $500 CL... I was offered the Visa one day I was shopping there using my Cap 1 Visa. I asked the associate was it a pre-approval and he said no but they only needed to ask me 5 questions. I declined... I will ask for the Visa in Jan or Feb of 09.

Ridiculous!!! User Icon on 2008-06-28

Remarks Target is ridiculous... I have the card a year now with a $200 limit. I hate cards that do not grow with you... I have used the card, pay on time... I will not carry a balance on a card with that low of a limit, I charge $60, and BOOM!!, you are at your 30% recommended utilization rate... I hate this card... It is my LAST choice card.

No Target CLi User Icon on 2008-07-16

Remarks

Years ago, I had a Target card and they gave nice regular increases... Now I have a new card since May 07 and only $500.00 Also, if you notice on the automated phone they don't say anything about requesting an increase. I read somewhere that Target is deciding whether to sell it's credit card business... Nordstrom and Target are the few who have their own bank card. That might be the problem...

Meya, I feel like canceling a couple sub-prime cards because no increases also. Meya, thanks for your input on this website... I've learned alot.

Remarks I wouldn't close the card. I would keep it for the history and make a small purchase on it every 2 months just to keep the account active.
